There’s a lot more gun spawns and there’s both sponsored kits and rook to play as for free kits. Really just use guns you find this game makes it easier to get equipment and get stronger that way and there’s actually a lot larger of a strength gap with kits as opposed to arc. A free kit against even all like blues is a massive difference and you can craft builds which isn’t in any other extraction shooter I’m aware of

I’ve met a lot of chill folks just queuing with randos for trios. In addition to what others have said, I’d say just get on the mic and be up front with your team mates that you’re getting your bearings. You might get some a-holes but most folks I’ve met playing since launch have been chill and happy to help team mates as long as you’re on comms. Made 5-6 new buddies so far

Every player starts a usual solo session at his spawn, once player count drops to 3 (last survivors) the system announces "You're a team now" pvp turns off and you continue together from that point.

As of right now the game would benefit more from (first of all) allowing the solo players even participate in the endgame activity, by perhaps adjusting things to make cryo slightly more approachable AND doable solo. The game needs more people to join in and play the game, we all can benefit from it. Adding a nieche mode 1v3 in cryo when this is not an option in non cryo maps (I already said there is a reason it's only rook who can do that), is definitely not gonna do Marathon any good, maybe just you and few others here who already play the game, but that's just it.

Are the devs tracking the results of fights of PC against console players? I feel like the data will show that it's not viable to keep matching them against each other. PC has a massive advantage and wins almost every fight. In the rare instances I am up against console players I can tell immediately by the way they move and aim.

I understand that PC players have it in their heads that there's some sort of advantage to playing on console (aim assist) but that aim assist is there specifically because fine control on a stick is much harder than with mouse. It doesn't bring them to parity, it just makes controllers usable for FPS games. The data for who wins in matchups would reveal this. My own anecdotal data reveals this.

The difference in PC and console is not aim assist, I will happily admit aim assist is strong on console, but the reticle is only sticky within a certain range of the target. Where PC players are excelling right now is in movement + aiming, which makes hard pushes and weapons like the shotgun feel extremely unfair. Sniping too obviously. Console players are outmoved and outaimed constantly in FPS shooters. And because loot is on the line in Marathon, this data needs to be scrutinised closely.

They are really hard to see when standing still and cloaked but usually I can catch the shimmer if they're moving when cloaked and stealth doesn't last too long. Sometimes it's useful to just slow down some they might run out of invisibility by the time you reach them if they pop it too early

The grind just doesn’t feel good. So what’s the alternative? Perimeter I love but the loot sucks unless you have a keycard which is never guaranteed. And dire marsh has the lockdowns but then you’re going up against 5 teams of thermal snipers and purple shield assassins. So fun. Not to mention we completed a level three lockdown and the loot was terrible so I haven’t felt indicted to do it more

outpost events (pinwheel + convoy) are probably the best for loot cycles outside of cryo. Some decent stuff in lockdown and other interest events, and boss kills, but the time + ammo vs reward is a tough balance

After over 100 pinwheel runs that are all successful I wish I liked it more. But the loot is never worth the time imo. And the amount of people running free kits on that map is insane. We constantly risk purple shields, guns and backpacks just to wipe a lobby full of free kits and get nothing from them. The loot isn’t worth the time to get it, and the gear from other players is high risk from my team, and low for them. Never thought shit stomping full lobbies would get so boring. But it’s ALWAYS free kits on outpost

It requires one door and two claymores.
Set one claymore up against one side of the door, like a brilliant trap. But there's a bright red light that can be seen through the door!
Go to the other side of the door and set a claymore up mirroring the first.

I have a 100% success, 9 kills acquired rate with this tactic. People run up, see the claymore facing the door, shoot it and immediately open the door, never expecting another claymore on the other side.
