That is not really how a live service population works, so its a hypothetical built on a loose foundation. If season 2 ends up somehow being magical shit that EVERYONE is obsessed with, then that season will have player counts higher than S1. Happens in every live service, the game doesn't 'die' based on one seasons playercounts, some seasons people love, some they don't. We're early adopters, growing pains to be expected imho.

The refund system exists BECAUSE issues like this kill player engagement. It lessens the blow, not removes said blow entirely.

People lost the loot they were about to successfully extract with, and then lost the gear they were refunded in their next run. They lost their gear, the loot they earned, and their good mood and positive experience surrounding Cryo's launch. We're lucky it was fixed as fast as it was because if it had gone on longer and this was a more widespread experience this would've ruined the launch. That's the connection you missed, and why you don't downplay shit.

Being locked in and having your eyes trained on a target makes it much harder to tell what shots you had that missed because of your own aim compared to being able to watch it back. Think it's lag? We are 2 weeks in yes, and maxing out factions within a 3 month span is plenty for the more casual side. Especially since you don't actually need to play cryo to get prestige salvage. Those can be found in either lockdown, anomaly, prestige locked rooms and whatnot so Cryo isn't exactly necessary for progression

I've been at work since 6am this morning, that's why my responses are timed how they are. I'm tilted because someone raised a valid concern and before it was fixed they were getting clowned on. You correctly ascertained earlier that I've seen worse in Tarkov, and as such I can sympathize with the people who dealt with the bug earlier, but the difference is everyone knows Tarkov bugs are bullshit, so they send their condolences and go next.
