To be serious though, afaik the first game was very successful for it's time, though still wasn't quite the success of DOOM. Clearly, though, it was at least successful enough to make a trilogy and was still quite a niche for it's advanced storytelling (even if it was told through terminals.)

since this alpha is kinda devoid of the ingame story event bungie was talking about imma reserve judgement on that until we see if there's something there or just a nothing burger. The story contracts having an actual voiced cutscenes as opposed to just a textbox is an improvement over some other extraction shooters I've played.

There is no solo queue in the game, there's the option to not fill the party which they've said outright and repeatedly isn't reccomended and only there for those who really want, and said they won't have it for launch because of the amount they will need to change to have it not be "everyone run invis boy and rat" simulator, but they are working on a true solo queue for post-launch

When I think of the idea of solo queue v squads, though, I will always hold Hunt: Showdown close to my heart in that regard. I love getting the drop on an unsuspecting team and winning as the underdog. I see the appeal.
