basically all content in warframe can be solo'd, but it works in a similar vein to destiny where you will get automatically matchmade for most content (which you can opt in or out of at the push of a button) and after completing a mission or whichever you're no longer in a lobby with those players - as for content, it is an ongoing story like most MMOs so it's true there's currently no "completed state" but there are definite points where you can say you're "done"

Player retention is not solely riding on this closed alpha. This is also not a 100% reflection on how future tests will run. Open tests that may come in the future will be more fully fleshed out which will draw in more people.

People who have high interest in playing this game in September will not be lulled by other titles. And this is a general statement that could be said to any other respective title. There are die hard fans that will always return and curious enough people who will still give it a chance even if they missed past tests

I prefer to have the game for like a couple of months at most, get that itch for lootear shooters scratched and the jump on to other genres each time until in a couple years they release another one and scrath It again. But if you already have an online game that you come back on each update, yeah, Borderlands won't be that interesting (and to be honest, Borderlands 3 feels good to play, but the story is something most people don't enjoy, they endure It to just Skip everything an only focus on being told where to shoot XD)

All good. Valid point. But IMO, this should have been kept to a smaller community rather than opening it up to the masses and filling people with a false sense of hope. Like I said, there are going to be a LOT of other games/competition releasing around that September window, and interest retention is a very important factor to consider. I'm definitely not one that's going to be forgetting and never returning, but there will be a ton of people who do forget about Marathon and never come back. People's attention span these days is abysmally low. That's why I say that this whole thing was handled poorly. I think they should have generated this level of hype closer to a point where that sense of hope wouldn't be crushed. You only get one first impression.

To release in September is not a random thought, it’s based in confidence.
