Additionally, they simply wouldn't have the server capacity to get everyone in, look at what happened with Helldivers 2 when their servers were full. Not fun.

I also believe we are overestimating the player count here. We are not taking into account all the bot accounts that joined. If I had to guess I'd say there's about 50-75k authentic humans in the server. This applies for every server that launches a new game. I don't see an issue with giving everyone Alpha access. Or to calm your nerves we can also chop that number by more than half by only allowing people from the 50-75k pool with high-end setups to be eligible for the Alpha.

Extraction shooters are really hardcore style games, Marathon looks like its a good mix of videogame with consquences and something you can casually boot up for some adrenaline. And the TTK is a decent bit longer too, so we avoid the BS insta death from a bush

im excited for marathon being casual extraction shooter cause stuff like tarkov is really cool on paper but i get burnt out fast, i like tactical games sometimes but i don't like taking them too seriously or being super competetive, so hopefully marathon isn't a sweatfest
