Heartbreak may not be the right direction- you don't want the story to echo edgerunners, but I certainly feel a lot of tragedy in the narrative Bungie has constructed so far, between the push and pull of the Factions and the Runners they manipulate. Not to say it couldn't be a love story- but perhaps something leaning more into the tragedy of watching someone you care for degrade under new forms of rampancy and having your megacorp overlords demand you do nothing- or make it even worse for science.

The only issue is that how you end says something. Stories are never just the action and plot- the thematic nuance is often more palpable and important.

The Great Lebowski is nihilistic through and through. Nothing matters, men are stupid, but at least we have bowling and cigars. That's the message, that's the meaning, so having an ending with closure would undermine the whole film.

There are plenty of plots that support an ending that lacks closure, it's just a difficult and tenious messaging that's easy to bungle.

I recently started to watch more movies after a long time of "impotency" after watching Stalker in cinema last year. It finally gave a push to watch more of Tarkovsky (when I can catch it in cinemas). So a few months ago I watched Andrei Rublev and it's glorious masterpiece.

The rockets on destroyer are not hitscan, I usually use some sort of cover if possible and pull back/put distance as needed. It is hard to deal with if you are pinned down though. But def not impossible to beat.
