Its also an experimental PVE mode and they laid out their design philosophy for Marathon and made it clear that they want new modes and experiences to fit in that philosophy. I think it really depends on how they execute the cradle system. If there are genuinely new ways to play every shell then I’d be in support of no role lock but if cradle just mega buffs every shell then I think role lock might be a good change
