Because a truly competitive match isn’t decided by “who has the best gear”. Normally Ranked format guts out all of the Super Fiesta(A very casual mode on Halo) weapons and forces people to use weapons that actually requires SKILL. Normally in Ranked modes everyone has the same weapon or loadout with limited access to super fiesta weapons. That’s why I haven’t touched Ranked on Marathon, it’s a joke.

It just means if all you can get is green shields that that you are at a big disadvantage in close quarters combat. If you and the other player have WSTRs, you have green shields and they have blue or purple, you are pretty certain to die. Honestly wipe the map only makes sense if your skill and gear is higher than everyone else though. If you are equally matched, each engagement is 50/50 chance you win. If there are 4-6 other crews and you try to wipe the map, you have the odds stacked against you. So you have to have better gear, upgrades and skills than everyone else, and then wipe the map. Statically speaking due to really good players, with really good gear likely playing a lot more, and the fact that there are 4-6 crews on the map, more times than not it they will be a crew or two that completely outclass the other players and they are the ones wiping the map. And since they keep their gear most of the time it just snowballs. They get faster faction upgrade, more gear, etc.

I think the biggest problem, if they aren't going to have some form of working matchmaking, is make it so people still get progress if they don't exfil. It really really sucks when you only exfil 1 in 10 times, and you can't do any contracts because almost all of them require you to exfil, so you can't even feel like you are having progression in upgrading your factions. You have zero progress, zero gear, stuck in a death spiral of free gear, and you aren't even getting progression.

you're thinking of how the current system plays, and your goal is to buff the floor directly. when the floor sucking is part of the design; it doesn't need anymore buffs now.

you dont fix the bad floor by making it more comfortable. if the floor feels good, like it does now with free kit spam and rook, then people will just stay there. there's no need to play midgame when u can just zero to hero super easily.

so green gear and blue gear becomes worthless. you have to exfil it and the shop doesn't give you unrestricted access so there's no incentive to try mid tier hero to riches. because u can just rook for that gear or free kit for that, or bigger scores.

the only way you solve a system that has no middle success now, is loot showering. people have no reason to risk their gear with how strong free kits are and rook being what it is, unless it's cryo that forces them too. and that's for the minority; the majority just dont have gear and dont wanna free kit/rook spam.

Vandal is great for outpost because of the maps vertically. It lets you escape or close the distance on an enemy you downed on a roof

His thruster jump and thruster run automatically covers everything about Vandal except the arm cannon, he just has shoulder rockets.
In every scenario, Destroyer is the better choice completely. Endgame Destroyer is a god compared to Endgame vandal even with her gold implants.
Destroyer can have a shoulder rocket outside his ult. Vandal is nowhere near that utility
