But Outpost? Dear mother of god, it should just be renamed to 'WNSTR-Post" as the amount of runs I downed teams, or got downed with it are numerous. And the thing is, its boring on the users end after the 90th time doing it (Atleast for me), and on the recieving end it isn't like:

It cost 6,000 credits to buy a WSTR Shotgun with zero attachments.
You can sell then for 2.4k credits, you can't buy them at 2.4k

filling into cryo is a death wish at that level because there is no gear matchmaking, its level matchmaking, which means you could come in stacked with keys and good guns and all of that, and you queue with teammates who have blue shields and no idea what theyre doing

Like in a coordinated, competitive game, you're gonna need to find a team if you want to be competitive among the top. I agree the gap between ordinary players and people who play a lot is too big, but that's a balance issue, not an issue with trio implementation.

Really, the only problem with the WNSTR is its 2 shot on Purple and Gold.

Purple shields aren't AS rare as gold, but they can be rare enough for a lot of players - And gold even more so.
But the amount of times I just insta down purple shield users, it almost feels like I'm cheating with the 2 tap.

Now IDK if the gold shields were just low or something, but even they can get 2-Tapped. It just feels like.. Not fun to go against, or use longterm.

And I mean as in, the gun feels great to use! But its almost too great to the point where I want to use other weapons in the game, but it calls to me like a Siren b4 I deploy to "equip the autowin button.."

I also like that Purple/Gold shields are not automatic wins against Blues etc in a fair fight.

No what I expect for my smg is to be good in one specific area cqc. I don’t want the cheapest gun to be best in class and good everywhere, the bully is excellent at mid range as well.

The WSTR feels somewhat fair because it is oppressive in the area where it’s good at a max of 7m, and essentially a death sentence right outside of it, how a weapon is supposed to be. A gun being good everywhere is a core issue in a game like this that revolves around playing your effective range weapon wise.

I mean, I'm harsh on it except rook. Rook is going into 1v3's so its fine that he gets it.

I agree that the bully is a bit too strong outside of close quarters. I feel like I can beam people a bit outside of the idea range, and tap fire people pretty effectively a little more outside of that. I lose in the volley/repeater/sniper ranges though, as one should using a bully.

In close quarters, it is godlike. If the map is close quarters, it will be a good idea to bring it, no doubt.

That said, bringing one on Dire Marsh is not the greatest idea because 90% of the time, you will have long distance fights.

I think it is more of a map diff than a weapon issue personally. But it is interesting to hear your opinion on it.

We did a lot of outpost runs. We noticed a lot more after the update and with ranked up ngl. We grinded to diamond and during that grind found a good chunk of keys. We also killed a bunch of bosses so might have been from there too (we almost always do a boss when it spawns

One counterplay we have to WSTRs for outpost that my homies and I do is to get into the pinwheel first and post up.

That said, I usually bring a bully and sniper for that map. I handle the outside pretty well with it and I play my corners far from shotties with the bully. It is all about clearing areas safely and slowly. Rushing in is exactly what any camper (shotgun or not) is wanting you to do.

With all this negativity, I just want to spread some love. This is my favorite game and basically the only one I play consistently as of now.

I am in love with the gunplay and abilities, how challenging you can make the game for yourself. The variety of builds you can make and how creative you can get.

Have they made mistakes? Sure but I'd argue that's more upper management and the profit machine. It is a business and I get it. Could they have made different decisions that may have made the game better? Probably. But at its core it's still my favorite game and I will see it into the final shape.

I hope the devs and upper management and strike some sort of balance to keep to game going strong. Here's to you devs! The real heroes 🍻

After playing 200hrs, progress did not slow down all the way up to the release of cryo, but there is a lot of necessary materials in cryo to finish a majority of your progression. If you looted salvage and other materials properly then your progress shouldn't have halted on any of the three maps

The fact that it is so important to do these quests to get xp and level up factions, and that leveling up factions is so important for going into high level runs with good gear consistently, and that the reset is every 3 months, make it very difficult to justify playing the game for me, when I work graveyard shift+full time classes. This isn't really the kind of game that I can put 2-3 hours a week into and still enjoy in the mid and late season, unlike Destiny 2.

Man, oh man. This mission finally solved my gear fear.. I literally put everything every time, purple shields, purple bags, purple weapons, and went down from there until I am now basically forced to rebuild my vault with the rook or hopefully have a lucky free kit (which wasn't even close! lol). No gear fear but also no gear. The map is too packed with ai to my liking (outpost specifically) and I just can't find any enjoyment running there. Heat cascade paired with that ai pressure in a pretty small space made me quit the game and wait for this update. we'll see how it goes.
I main destroyer and literally everyone solo there is an assassin.

Got some not so rare salvages, a purple m77, few codex items and a cryo key 05 which I sold for 2K cause what am I supposed to do with that solo? haha was it worth it? 100% NO. I'd never do it again. the reward is ass, not made for solo players. There are your 10K people who bought and left, the frustrated solo players

Yes, assassins mechanic allows them to bypass one of the major hurdles in outpost (the ai pressure) which is an obvious balancing issue when you really think about it. I main destroyer and all I see is assassins which not only makes it harder to me, it also kills my immersiveness or whatever it called, it feels like instead of picking your playstyle you're forced to pick one style and that's not fun to me

it is. If you we're creating a game with solo mindset first, and then balancing it for team work, it might have worked. But they did it the other way around, and now you cannot really do anything with the cloak.
My suggestion was make it so that they are cloaked only stationary/while walking, just like the rook, if they run, the ai should see them and shoot them.
