i feel like the faction system and salvage should work in favor of more consistent capability to build high gear kits.

like, if u put in the time to level that much, it should be extensively more rewarding so u can keep playing the game with high gear even if ur mostly losing PVP engagements.

sure, some people call that a handout. but imo, getting that high level in rank and progression should be rewarding so u have more hopes u can win big and compete in the tough scenarios.

imo, a good way to offset this, is that there should be no limits imo for high tier barters. u should be able to, IE, drop 18k credits nonstop for gold implants.

because the limits just encourage u to stop playing the game at a certain point. and we already have the resource cost there.

Yup, it's crazy. I played the game the equivalent hours to a part time job for 3 weeks and my highest faction was like lv20. Thats when I started noticing the grind, doing math in my head, and realizing I would have to abandon all the other games I play to no life Marathon in order to finish everything

Free kits can kill purple shields if the stars align, but more often than not as a free kit it's going to be fairly difficult. Most people dont talk about how many times they had to go into a game as a free kit to get that purple shield kill which is the biggest problem.

better gear just helps you take 1v1s if your shield is better and lets you possibly recover from ambushes, ultimately if your dueling a blue shield and you have no shield, if you land headshots and they don't you're still going to win, but if it's equal skill 99% of the time the lesser shield will lose if they don't get the first few shots off

There are alot of mods that can change a fight for guns, also as a free kit you dont have grenades at all so you are significantly disadvantaged depending on where the fight starts. Heals are extremely powerful as well. Yeah a shield is good, but if it's broken from a pve fight how fast they heal, zone you, by time, and reposition is all done through their utility not the shield

eh, i think schemas are well balanced as they are. sure, the 15k price for the volt weapons is strange asf, but i can see the logic.

i just think the high tier buildcrafting items like implants, backpacks, cores, guns, etc. should all be a strict resource cost that's high, and that's it. no limit, as long as u can afford it.

i get limitations on meds and grenades, but even consumables shouldnt be limited. cryo archive even offsets this because they dump a crap ton on u if ur not able to continuously buy more consumables because ur at ur limit.

yepp. Btw I quit genshin bcs i realised the grind without PAYING for progression was gonna honestly be soul destroying so i quit consistently playing it 4 years ago. Atleast for Genshin it doesnt erase your progress. This game does and while the grind isnt pay to win, it requires insane commitment. Which is only worth it to a VERY select few that play extraction shooters, let alone Marathon.

I feel like solos is good for this, wipe out as many players as you can playing a bit more aggro in outpost, then doing rook runs there too. Outpost is great for movement and positioning practice while dire marsh is good for spacing

I like that the bots on players allows them to benefit from my consumables. So in cryo I can consistently use them and heal my team with my consumables. Allowed me to understand what's going on better when played that way. You also start to value the consumables you find also and how they should be used

I think also when people were newbies and didnt know abt exchanging salvageables for meds ( ppl obviously didnt know this becasue the tutorial makes no effort to explain anything). People saw the 1.2k cost for green meds, went broke buying them. Yeah, you really feel that pressure at times when dealing with sweats. Marathon attracts such players, but there’s more to it than that. It sucks that people think it’s not for them because they play much more casually. I’m impressed by top tier players, and I put my best foot forward in the competitive games that I play. I love it. But, there’s more to it than just chasing after ranks, rare loot, and whatnot. The game’s worldbuilding has beautiful maps to discover and explore, lore to learn about, and Runners to befriend (or become Runners with friends).

I personally have 4 sub routines, maybe like 7-8 successful exfils in cryo, and that map feels like a maze in a lot of spots. I'm trying to supplement my map knowledge with youtube guides n such. I want to get better at the game, so I am making an effort by doing research. My aim is pretty decent, and my game sense is pretty ok, but those could use more work too.

The problem is that most players who attempt Cryo will never be able to open a vault, much less even see the compiler due to the ludicrous amount of steps involved. Not only do you need the respective vault keys, but you also need to go around the map to collect the needed materials to access the vaults, complete the puzzles in the vault and exfil. That on its own is fine imo, but the problem is we also have to deal with other players who make it their personal mission to prevent others prom progressing. Like it goes from being a challenging but rewarding experience to a downright nightmare because of the PvP element. And telling people to “git gud” is only going to shrink the population until the game is dead. Bungie needs to appeal to casuals for this, otherwise the game will be dead in a year.

If I wanted to do a vault 04-06 run, I would get people I know are decent at FPS games on my team using this discord or anyone I already know who plays. I find friends to play with using discords like this and doing other stuff in the game with them first to see if they are good enough to hang in cryo.

As someone who was a big EFT fan and put thousands of hours into it PVE fractured the playerbase in a pretty irreparable way. It seems like an easy thing to say that they should add but the friction is inert to the experience. If they're going to add pve at all they have to be very careful about how they do it.
Also Extracting loot out of PVE to take into pvp is very lol to me, completely removes all tension from the experience and loot isn't even that hard to get so.

When I first tried Cryo before I was more familiar with the map. The overhead view made it look like a tourney-style map with four spawns.

There would be two separate 3v3 fights which would ultimately grant the winners enough security clearance to get into the middle area, upon which there'd be another 3v3 fight. I still somehow think that's a better design for the map, providing there was something to break stalemates or where a 3v3 was a draw.

The general consensus is that it runs fine on mid/budget PCs, but really good PCs are not hitting nice frames. As someone who owns a nice PC, it is a little frustrating. I would definitely be more vocal if I was in the double digits of FPS personally. But it manages to stay between 100-200 FPS in fights for me, so I'll take it for now. I do want more frames eventually, but given how well D2 runs on a good PC, I am skeptical this will happen.

I get upwards of MAYBE 70fps in the menu with basically no render scaling, and ingame the most fps i can get is 30 when im not in a gunfight...

The PvP is just as brutal and requires just as much skill, for the most part. The only thing starter about Perimeter is the loot.

IMHO the different maps just lend viability to the different playstyles and weapons. That's all that should be different about them.

No-one would say Guardian is a starter map nor Valhalla or Zanzibar are endgame.

Why not let a more players some more chilled scavenge/pvp moments why they made the ai so dumb un-necessarily and anti fun in that map? it's obviously made for trios, the fact that you play solo and you like outpost as is now tells me 2 things about you, either you are very skilled, or you are another assassin of the 95% assassin that plague the solo outpost right now and the fail to see how horrible the ai pressure for solo there is cause they avoid it and wait in the corners till someone is exhausted and without any health due to all that ai swarm. I would never recommend any solo player to have that awful experience. You gotta love pain to have fun playing like that

I mean, I am pretty good at games but the real danger of pinwheel is trying to kill bots without letting other players know you are there. I usually wait for someone else to draw robot blood first and try to jump them, but if they don't by a certain amount of time, I go for it myself.

Hell I like the game and wouldn’t have 100 hours in it if I thought it was bad. I just hate how the endgame content is filled to the brim with sweats and it is impossible to avoid matching up with people who use the Goo Gun. And because of them it is impossible to get to their level since they make it impossible to reach them.

This is an ongoing trend in multiplayer games I've noticed. The general skill level of gamers in games with pvp now is much higher than the past. It has gotten a lot of casuals to not want to try any games with pvp at all.
