if you look at basically any game but those that sit in the top ten on an ongoing basis, player counts fall. the question mid-season is whether or not it stabilizes in your own territory well enough to sustain matchmaking. right now, that's true for most players. we can't really know if it will perform adequately for continued investment at the new season boundary until we get there and we can't do anything to affect the outcome, so might as well have fun and see what happens when it happens. why worry.

they need to add loadout value filtering of some sort for matchmaking and reduce the high-end salvage needed for some upgrades, for most folks even at 150h~ youre not gonna have even blue shield direct purchase unlocked, let alone shotgun for rook, I think that alone would help a ton. maybe something like 0k, 5k, 10k, and 20k+ loadout value matchmaking brackets
