However, you take any POI in Perimeter and put it on a arena shooter and those would be peak maps. Bungies skills in FPS map design really shows with the overall interest points in this game especially Perimeter

The difference between Marathon and CS2 is the same as the difference between Warcraft 3 and DOTA.

Both great games with lots of superficial similarities, but in each example the latter is easier to pick up and learn and thus much more accessible and popular.

I think there are genuine reasons to criticize bungie and sony. Sony overspent on bungie in a massive live service push and then had to abandon that plan. Bungie has had problems with leadership for a very long time. That being said, I can guaruntee with every fiber of my being, that the devs are are literally IN THIS SERVER are not out here making choices to spite the "fans." Having been in game development, I can assure you that they all just want to make a good game.

The "choice" to vault content was not out of spite. It was a difficult decision to deliberate leave older unplayed content out of the process when remaking the assets with the Beyond Light engine upgrade. The choice was not "which content do we remove" it was instead "which content do we absolutely need to bring forwards." I would definitely like to go back and play red war, forsaken, and all the seasonal content every now and then. However thats the problem, it would only be time to time. It costs a lot of money to have developers working on this for little to no reward.

Not really. The game is just CPU bound because the simulation is being run somewhat inefficiently and not offloaded to the GPU. Cyberpunk started off dipping down to 20fps on consoles.

The weights would have to be rather extremely biased toward skill to have any real effect. A highly skilled player with a gray shield and a mediocre weapon can run circles around a bad player with a purple shield. Discerning skill from gear advantage would require dozens of matches.
