Titanfall 2 was actually pretty good for casuals, in the main modes noobs could just kill grunts and other ai and still contribute to the win (arguably even more) and they got their titans pretty fast. The main problem with Titanfall 2 was it being sandwiched between the two biggest shooter franchises with some of their biggest launches yet, MWR was huge and bf1 was too. Titanfall 2 also didn’t stood a chance because it was hard to play the OG on pc with its steep requirements and no one had an Xbox one (compared to the ps4)

honestly not a bad idea. just make them recruits so they are easy enough for people to handle, but an easy sure fire way for you to know when people are coming. Make them look different from regular recruits so its obvious its a rook. Just not sure how to have a balanced time limit on that in a way that would be really useful but not overpowered but also not useless. I just dont think it can really be anything higher than a recruit. Maybe instead of 2 its 1 invis guy.

you get 20% reputation bump for the side quest things but nothing spectacular. Sometimes it's easier to get your quests done, also if you are good at being sneaky you can survive more. (easier said that done)

okokok, when im saying casuals i dont mean arc raider casuals, i mean Apex Legend casuals that might be fairly competitive, and play the game a lot but aren't no-lifers. As is, to get into a Cryo Vault you ned to 1: get a cryo key, which in itself is pretty rare to find (i've found two in 60 hours after doing pinwheel many many times). you then need to load into Cryo, and get all the materials you need to open the vaults, which for some involve finding an empty coolant, and doing a convoluted set of steps that involve going into the centre of the map, arguably the hardest section. you then need to make sure you have enough batteries to open the vault, loot it, and then survive to actually exfil with everything. You need to do this '6' times, getting cryo keys for all of them, and surviving against pvp encounters before you even have a chance to do vault 7. Its not like outpost where you can do rook runs, or just do free kit runs to get a feel for the map since you need to invest a fair amount of credits upfront. im not saying all this to complain, i like that the game is hard, but we're being pretty disingenuous if we don't admit that the current barrier is a bit too high that it potentially locks out even fairly competetive players who just don't ahve the time even interacting with the fun parts of Cry Archive takes

I've got ~400 hours in Arc Raiders, and something's been bothering me more the longer I play. It feels like trying to play both PVE and PvP, basically the full gameplay loop, is actually the worst way to play the game right now.

From what I've seen, there are basically three types of players:

PvE players. The default solo experience. They focus on destroying arc, looting, and progression. They avoid fights and mostly get to engage with the game's systems as intended.

PvP players. Most common in duos and trios, if not exclusively. They ignore mostly everything and just chase fights. Gunshots, flares, whatever, they're there for combat and usually run free kits.

And Hybrid players. This is where I fall. You loot, fight arc, and take fights when they happen. You're trying to engage with everything the game offers, whether that's trials, projects, or the expedition.

The issue is that the game heavily favors the first two and sorta punishes the third.

If you're a PvP player running free kits, you risk almost nothing. If you die, you queue again. If you win, nice, but you don't really need the loot anyway. There's basically no downside.

If you're a PvE player, you can avoid fights most of the time. You progress consistently. You don't really deal with the same pressure, aside from the occasional rat or betrayal.

But if you're trying to do both, things start to feel bad. Most of the fights you take (or randomly encounter on quests) end up being against free kits, or players already low on resources, basically people carrying almost nothing of value. So even when you win, you don't really gain anything. You just burn your heals, use your ammo, expose your position, and now there are more teams rotating to third, fourth, or fifth party.

So the loop becomes. You bring gear. You fight. You win. You gain almost nothing. You lose resources anyway. More teams show up. Eventually, you die or leave early.

Fights don't end until the 15-minute mark because of late spawns,

My view on it is, sure it may have been a somewhat lackluster launch (the gigantic hate campaign against it def didn't help), but Sony and Bungie combined probably have infinite money to throw at the project. Hell look at the cinematics we have the privilege of getting, absolute peak. Guarantee there's extensive plans for future content, and crazy shit in the works. Cryo Archive alone is one of the best extraction/fps maps ever created and I'll die on that hill, I do not care

Reputation is what separates bungie from a lot of the modern studio closures. Bungie is like three times as old if not more than these other studios. Then there’s the fact studio reputation has bungie making the iconic halo ip, and destiny being such a lucrative live service that actually lived up to its 10+ year promise

It’s also just a massive studio and shutting them down shifts a lot of people around

At worst Sony would downscale them but an outright shutdown is ridiculous to see people thinking/wanting to happen
