i LOVE the extraction stuff. Its my first extraction shooter and i think its genuinely a great mechanic. I dont think its enitrely opposed to the things u find interesting either.

I think i agree that they are not mining exploration/world detail as much as they could. i sort of wish i could access every computer or just do more stuff in the world/go through files etc

But the extraction mechanic is very fun to me. and players are the smartest, most dangerous enemy, so i like that it makes the world difficult

To be honest, the current state of Marathon with these personality-less bots (UESC) and terrible loot (no ammo or medicine drops) makes the overall loot weak. Dividing the maps with mountains or anomaly barriers hinders PvP, exploration, and players completing missions. The shooting gameplay is great, but without PvP, the game is completely boring, as it's not worth fighting the UESC. In terms of extract survivor gameplay, the game is quite weak so far.

I’ve been having the same experience even as assassin but I’ve seen someone say they’ve been having a better time with solo if you play it slow and methodical and be prepared for any situation but they had like thousands of hours on tarkov compared to someone who’s new to extraction shooters so it’s an interesting challenge to overcome I guess

What I’m noticing now is a power scaling issue. Trying to fight full teams with blue snipers and purple shields is rough when you don’t have them as well.

I’m honestly beyond frustrated with this situation. It’s gotten to the point where I feel like I have to treat my own teammates the same way I treat enemies, all because the system for sharing high-tier loot is either gone or completely broken and nobody is giving a clear answer. That kind of uncertainty completely ruins the spirit of team play.

Am I really the only one who thinks this is ridiculous? Surely there must be other players who feel the same way. This kind of change—or bug, whatever it is—creates unnecessary tension between teammates and pushes people to compete against their own squad over purple and gold materials. Slightly misleading, I believe during the closed alphas and betas the same "share" system we have now was implemented, where you can drop items for your squadmates but they will return to the original owner at extract. Dont remember them ever saying that there would be full on gear sharing.

-I quite like how committed some of the UI is to the garish style. sometimes i feel like the UI embodies the aesthetic of the game more than anything else
-some of the megastructures are cool to look at, and if you like factories theres a lot of interesting stuff
-the NPCS are easy i agree. i think theyre mainly there to get you to shoot and attract players.

So the first day Marathon was out, I saw my SILK was maxed out, and something about an overflow. I kept getting max SILK, but I didn't know that wasn't normal, and I didn't want to lose out on earning more SILK so I just kept spending it. I felt like it was too much. I was able to unlock all of the Season 1 Rewards Pass. I honestly feel like I cheated the system and now I don't have anything to strive for there. Was this a common issue?

This game could have been good with another year of work. But they were pressured to get it out when millions of people think they like extraction shooters because of Arc, and before GTA when nobody will care about the extraction shooter craze anymore. Unfortunately it's too late, the damage has been done, and this game will not last long enough to improve into a rewarding experience.

Depends on the day for me. Weirdly, the better loot I have the more confident I am that I could win a gunfight if they started one, so I'm more friendly. But then if my loot gets too good, I get jumpy and am more apt to shoot on sight. Catch me with mostly blue gear? We can make soft tacos together. Catch me with grey/green or purple? Buckle up

Ive heard mixed things about the MTX in game currently, I personally havent looked at them in game but ive seen some and they look decent. I think the BP is well worth it, you do only have 1 shell skin but theres like 20+ different gun skins you can buy, schemas, weapon charms and stickers, so very good value for what it has. But for the MTX they need to really ramp up the cosmetics, as that is what drives ALOT of people playing is the shell designs.
