Hopefully they can really bring the content every 3 months. I don’t mind wipes at all, but it needs to be fine significant reason. Especially with the way the sponsors are setup. It’s it going to be hard to max them all and their won’t be a lot of variety if any when it comes to people’s skill trees if you consider the nodes for the vendors that. Having to do them over and over every three months feels bad. Now if there was a mechanic that kicked you in, like you can only purchase so many skills in said trees etc so you have a reason to redo the missions over again and build rep to try a different skill tree build that would be a nice change.

Additionally and I can’t stress this enough I feel like this game needs an area for crafting. This is a a staple of extraction shooters that I think is needed here.

that's fair, I think for this reason that adding a "friendly" button was a dumb idea, nobody is hardly ever going to team up in this game, TTK is way too fast, and there's no reason to do so as there's no "greater" enemy, it seems like a very phoned in thing to me to add. The game is marketed as having you play as entirely hostile to everyone else, you are a corporate mercenary, that's it

By my estimate in trios only 3-4 teams spawn. Potentially just three but def no higher than 4. So in solos I would think it’s likely 9-12 people in general. IMO it’s wayyy to lose and even in solos it feels less I think maybe 3-5.

You can do both contracts but you’ll only get personal progression for your selected contract.

Ie if you have the same contract as him but you picked a different one for that run, you won’t progress your copy, only his, because you have a different contract selected.

I disagree the core gameplay and balance across all three seasons (not including alpha or beta) didn’t change much other than balance changes on weapons and gear. They were adding new content and all was well. They intentionally made a run at everybody with their cash shop months in advance already knowing they were going to shut it down. They cited very specifically costs for this reason after selling cosmetic supporter packages that were new to people even though they knew this with the full intention on walking away with the money. at the end of the day they simply could not get the cheating situation under control. They tried and tried and the core flaw was in how they architected the game. They couldn’t fix it easily.

Some of the things that this game (marathon) aimed to address was some of these very specific things such as adding fog of war, server side validation logic etc. the cycle wasn’t purpose built from a security perspective with that in mind. It essentially doomed the game out the gate as soon as someone reversed it and understood what they were working with.

I think the game could benefit greatly from extended map times and having people continually spawn in in intervals making the map essentially an instance. Similar to how the cycle frontier did it. That was a very cool aspect of that game. Also loot would reset on timers after you braved a specific event. For the cycle it was “the storm” a period where all extracts shut down and a serious event that was dangerous happened that endangered everybody that stayed and wasn’t in cover.

For this game I can imagine that event being a massive reinforcement wave that you have to survive if you miss extraction on reset where you’re being hunted along with a massive storm etc.

i played both arc and marathon and both were my first shot at any type of extraction shooter. i just find marathon more fun and engaging than i did arc. i still sucked at both but at least one made me want to play it again and try to get better at it

If you are looting you have no time to figure out what things are and whats the difference because of incompetent design at Bungie, they all look the same you have to hover slowly on Console, while you get shot either by a bot or a team. The learning curve for items and weapons during game session is horrendous

yes. if it doesnt for you, check chosen devices in Social tab of the Settings. For me and some of my friends, wrong devices were chosen by default (even though we have proper system default devices set in windows)

the ai stuff was clearly explained, it didnt replace actors, what they did is get some people to record their voices to train the model for each of the character in turn for fair compensation for a voice actor in a AA game.

and your just wrong about the camera angle stuff, its balanced around it. rocketeers and other arcs still give the survival horror feel to unprepped players due to the fact that they are balanced around the third person camera, and your moaning about pvp 3rd camera corner peeking you can also use your 3rd person camera to idk, be more observant?
