CyAc is survivability, Sekgen is mobility and flexibility/versatility (I think), Arachne is PvP boosts, Traxus is high end gear

You don’t necessarily choose a faction you can choose contracts from any faction you want and they offer different selection of items when you level them up

may be a hot take but I think the pvp loop in arc is mid at best. Gunplay feels unintuitive and clunky. It's not like Embark can't do pvp well because finals is good. But you can really feel that pvp was an afterthought in the development of ARC. I'm hopeful that marathon will fill that void though because every Bungie game I've played had great feeling pvp
