Open World structure, which differs from the instance-based zones we had previously. Sounds like it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's just so big and empty and boring. There's no need for it to be open world. It doesn't add anything to the experience, and honestly it only subtracts.
Outside of that, lots of great quality of life changes, like repeatable bosses. The Skill Trees are genuinely pretty great, and I think it would be hard to argue that it isn't the most fun game in the series in terms of character builds.
But there's just nothing to do in the end game except grind the same bosses over and over again. The story was ... not great, if I'm being honest. That'll come down to taste, but I personally preferred the story of BL3 over 4 and that's ... saying something.
