even tho you can change the abilities somewhat with cores, those cores are still specific to a shell. You know exactly what a shell is capable of based on it's appearance, with or without the cores and augments, making it hero based
whereas in games like battlefield, the finals, etc, you might see an engineer but not know if they're running rpg or something else. You might look at heavy and not know if they have sheild or winch hook. This is what makes them classes.
