I stopped playing d2 a while ago, but the the current blight is exactly that. d2 and d1 had it's own very potent zen once

I remember going into patrol on planets in d1 and simply roaming and meeting players and that alone was great

taken king perfected this by having a tiered activity you reached in open world roaming

No point. The problem is that there is no good gear in the game. You can bring in gray gear and do just as well as someone who invested thousands in their kit. The TTK of a beginner weapon is often better than one that cost 16 times as much to build.

The main problem of arc is that there is nothing good. There’s no point in chasing anything there’s nothing. There are no good items because the game doesn’t allow anything to be better than a level one item.

The difference between a free loadout and a shit loadout is zero. If anything at least the free kits do not have healing items.

But there’s no progression and no point in playing the game after enjoying the first experience. Because you could have the peak of power with just stuff that you can get at level one, all of the upgrading off benches, the skills, everything it’s pointless.

Character design seems to be a huge weakness. It currently indulges in a transvestite/glam aesthetic. Which neither has individual or universal appeal. However, the neon grime environment design is beautiful and now that they are using corpses rather than duffel bags. The game is going to look so much better.
