I still love destiny, it fucking rocks! But right now, destiny 2 is not doing good and I have taken a break because of how displeased I am with it. Which has happened 4 times throughout my time start to now playing Destiny 2, as compared to Destiny 1

Yes, a lot of what we got in destiny 2 dlc wise was actually meant to be in destiny 1, but never came because the “A Word Company” decided otherwise

Also on the topic of publishers, look at what EA did to Bioware and Respawn

Look at the first mass effect game, which EA NEVER published save for the PC port.
Then compare the elements of that game to 2 and 3. 2 and 3 are significantly dumbed down, feature more mtx, and imo…are just weaker games despite overall playtime. 3 is better than 2, and 2 imo is the weakest mass effect game

In the first game, they made the main threat feel like a threat. We saw them frequently and spreading. And the focus was on the Geth and Saren, with some misc factions we fight being there occasionally to fill in the world.
Come 2, a lot of what we know gets flip flopped, and then we also get like zero urgency imo because the Collectors kinda show up what, 3 times and only in the main story…

Then in 3. I wish it wasnt so linear feeling, but i liked the cinematics and felt it was a step above 2.
Some story elements are eeehh, and the backtracking is a little annoying but not too bad.

Then there’s respawn, former sledgehammer devs who once made the MoH games.

Respawn made some super fun games. The first titanfall got a little overshadowed by the fact it was console only in a trough of console sales with the jump from the 360/ps3 to the One/Ps4

(Ps4 was better than the one by miles)

Then titanfall 2s launch? Terrible timing and not a whole lot of marketing done to draw attention

The aim assist on controller feels nonexistent across all titles too. I compared playing on an original xbox for ce and 2, as well as 3 and reach on my 360. The aim assist and magnetism were prominent and noticeable except in MCC

People get the terribly notion that “you have to lead your shots” in halo 3

You never had to unless you were far from red reticle range zoomed in

In fact the bullet magnetism of the ar in the original halo would hit you even if you were hardly aiming and the reticle was red

Thats how fucking strong it is in halo 3. And for the br, you can easily get 4-5 shot kills without “leading”

In MCC, the increased tickrate seemed to make the game run faster at a higher native hz

This also has the terrible side effect of making AI somehow more aggressive and fire more frequently.

Additionally: this is why revival and community projects to keep community run servers for the originals games still exist, and why speedrunners will prefer to play on the original consoles over the 60 tickrate “downgrade” the MCC had

It is no different than how people playing emulated nintendo games will be drastically fucked by increased tickrates doing the exact same thing

the same holds true for even the original CS, where a super high tickrate (among other settings) can mess with visual tearing and the location of where your bullets go
