It seems like the majority of this test was conducted on pc by steam users, they must have sent about 10 xbox and 5 ps5 invites out. Steam users still applying a day before the test ends and getting accepted while european console players have been left out. I know a few people on both ps5 and xbox who applied and none of us got an invite for either of the closed tests.

As much as the game is team oriented, you can't deny that a large percent of the players will try and play matchmaking. It's a good idea to test both teams and the solo experience to make sure you're not alienating a part of your audience.

Users will always play the easiest and most accessible way possible. If you only test for the most optimal use case, you risk not catching something you should.

An example is how bungie misses voice chat and other social features with every release. Feedback always comes back as "You made a game to play with friends where I have no tools to play with friends?"
