I hope I made my point across cause we all know what happened when The Cycle: Frontier used that monetization system and progression system resulted in a sunset. The Cycle: Frontier cheater issue was NOT a problem because there was NO PLAYERS in first place after release numbers fell. Players didnt leave The Cycle: Frontier because of anti cheat problems it was purely because there was nothing to do they had played the game and had no progression left to do after 3 hours of gaming no reason to go back to the game.

I loves the gameplay of The Cycle: Frontier but after a few runs there was nothing new it was just go in get gear that I already had and get out maybe some pvp but thats all. this is not a good LONG TERM nor live service strategy.

Does the steam message require you to launch the game, or is it just through the steam client? I am trying to submit a bug report because the game doesn't launch for me, it just crashes as soon as I start it. It is better than I expected, but can't see the longevity of the game. The maps are lacking in dynamic events, I want roaming bosses and random POIs that are sometimes fortified with more enemies, a mini boss and a loot room. Also I think it needs exotic style guns not mods. The 1 thing that Bungie never messed up was the design/graphical design of exotics, why not use this rarity in marathon too. Think some uniqueness to the rare guns would make the loot pool way more exiting.

Yeah I partially agree, but it also defends on the scope of the bosses and event. That maps are definently too small, but you can make something out of it. Have 1 random POI in like 10-20% of matches have a fortified version with more barricades and all other things mentioned

Honestly I do wonder what the reception to this game would be if they didn’t push the extraction shooter genre so much in the marketing. Since they’ve only been a few popular extraction shooters the definition of what it is in the culture is so narrow and it invites aggressive comparison. Sure, we won’t know for sure without direct word from them. I think this one is NDA because the reception to the previous one was mixed + the artwork issues. They seem to be a lot more cautious on what they show publicly and want the next reveal to hit hard and be positive
