you can realistically use whatever hair in unreal engine, the specific hair solution they've gone for sucks though
it is possible that arc raiders is using ue5's default groom system which imo has always been a mixed bag compared to more stylized solutions (especially at lower, non fps destroying settings)

If I want really tactical, slow paced gameplay I’ll go play Tarkov or hunt showdown. In arc the gunfights feel really sluggish because of the ttk, the rather fast healing and the average pacing. Each side can soak up an absurd amount of bullets. Marathon, on the other hand even though it doesn’t have a much lower ttk doesn’t feel nearly as sluggish or boring thanks to its higher mobility. With the heroes abilities you can close the distance to your enemy in a second. but in marathon, the mechanic where you can revive teammates anytime with no time limit is complete dogshit, it’s frustrating having to kill the same enemy three or more times in a single fight
