to me verticality provides more opportunity for off angles and throwing off people’s crosshairs (as you could be above or below them when they enter into a room, it can become more of a 50/50 if they are pre aiming at you). it can also provide interesting movement options for running away mid fight by jumping off/climbing shit but sometimes at the cost of allowing people to snipe/camp larger areas using vantage points.

in an extraction shooter having really good sniper positions can suck, maybe verticality in areas that don’t have good lines of sight on the rest of the map is the way to do it

But we can't say that for sure, we aren't game developers, marathon could be hard as fuck or easy, it's a PVP only game and as we know pvp players are a bit picky and whine babies, it's hard to get on their graces, I'm sure they'll be able to do both well (enough) but I hope they learn from destiny on how to handle content better
