yeah, it feels fine, I don't like the fact that it's third person, and some of the events and loot areas feel unrewarding. The Pve is def a high point tho, very fun to fight them with how much of a threat they pose, and it feel legitimately tense trying to get out in the last 5 minutes cause there's some big machine coming to end anyone in the area. Played the game for 9 hours

Oh that's actually a good wipe alternative. All gear has a degradation mechanic. Some can be repaired, some can't. And yes if a player drops their low durab gear, you now inherit that stat.

honestly I'm rlly liking this idea - it's a win win. Bungie gets the higher playertime, as ppl want to 'maintain' their loot so they play more to get materials/XP/whatever currency to up the durability of the ever-degrading weapons, while we (the players) feel that our rare loot isn't useless

Degradation is basically a soft constant wipe. And you could do something like have "events" where. I dunno, there's a rad storm or some looting in the games "meta" that essentially mass chunks durability.

IMO Arc Raiders releasing at the end of the month is a good thing for Marathon.
