But I think with marathon they wanted to kind of build and keep a fan/player base ( a community) from the start of announcing marathon (by using discord and their playtests), and don't solely rely on trailers and a big launch , and in a market where a lot of live service games are free , doing this would minimize the risk for them I think👾
