Nobody cared from 2023 to 2025, either. When there's no date and no news no one thinks about it, then it shows up and everyone's curious. They should just shut up until it's launch time IMO, they'll get much better launch sales than if they do a public test ahead of launch.

splitgate 2 didn't fumble cuz of whether or not the tests were public they just kept going in the opposite direction of what the community wanted

they full spec'd into a battle royale mode that very few people played

marathon's NDA-less alpha playtest tried to conserve space with crusty textures and that's not mentioning the miserable audience the company can't get rid of

idk how long splitgate had before the originally planned full release whereas marathon had like just 6 months so that's also a contributing factor lol

as a destiny player, destiny players are the worst. "underdelivering" was the best idea they had and people are playing EOF just as much as anything else despite how hard it works to disrupt people's connection to the legacy content

If you look at the steam charts there’s a visible peak for every single dlc except eof

It’s a valid take to say gamers online don’t know what they want and hate on everything but when the player base (mostly casuals or people not online) is down there’s proof something lacks.

Oh I agree. Personally if they would of taken the last year to do some clean up epilogue stuff for the light and darkness saga, and then take a year or two off to start off the new saga with the nine in a new client, I would of been fine with that.

The point is that the light and dark saga is over. the story is done. They are starting a new story so they should start a new game. They already reset progress on power and rank, they completely reworked armor and weapons so basially resetting inventories I don't see why a third game does not make sense

making a game ain't cheap and there's no practical reason for a D3 when everything runs fine on the same system

no you can't just retrain the whole studio to not be on tiger and try UE5 and make D3 immediately without making the audience wait for way too long
