That's not exactly true. Concord was a problem because it was too late. The development started immediately after Overwatch's release, so at the time, it wasn't a tired idea. The devs decided to go with the "Guardians of the Galaxy" aesthetic because Blizzard went with Pixar aesthetic, and it worked. Sony wasn't involved up to the final year of the development (which is year frickin' 8). The game started as a passion project. It was just stale on arrival.

Having played the Alpha on a friend’s account, i can safely say that the game they had at that point was solid. The foundations are there. Marathon is catering to me specifically because I like the concept of extraction shooters but I'm not into the hardcore variants like Tarkov. I want a more causal version of it. I enjoy the gameplay loop but not if it's too punishing.

Thing is, halo gameplay was never particularly in a rough spot excluding Halo 4 infinity gamemodes, reach armor abilites unbalanced starts and bloom, and questionable decisions on h5's req packs. The customization was one of the things they basically championed with infinite and it was simply just a glorified battle pass

My one main complaint is the lack of a solo queue. If they add a solo queue that has combat encounters balanced for solo combat id be fine. Love how it played (pace could be a bit faster) but no major complaints about the core gun and gameplay
