The thing about the alpha is that they were testing the core gameplay, for example the alpha is what you're gonna be doing for about 80% of the game. What we know is, half the guns, maps, and 2 heroes are what's missing, and from the play MA stream not too long ago, nothing major is changing, or planned to change.

I get bungie is known for "crunch culture" but I dont think that a majority of the gaming market will have a positive reception as to what's changing in marathon, and what's being added.

From an artistic and stylistic view, the art of Antireal and the art of marathon simply stems from the same art genre so the similarities will be there. What I find very problematic is how many people want the game to die or just get cancelled. I understand the frustrations, but we haven’t seen the full game yet. Art issue aside, fair and proper resolutions are in order. But why celebrate and support having a failed game. it doesn’t make sense. Sure I get the idea that you want to stick it to the bad business practices, but what is the problem if the game ends up being great and is majorly a well made game. Again before anyone jumps the gun, I’m saying IF the game ends up being amazing, why is that a problem, the consumer gets what they payed for which is ultimately what anyone wants, a good game that delivers on its promises. And the devs are happy with what they released. The problem I’m finding is that people are championing all the doom posting and the failure of the game before we even got to see the full release, we have yet to see all the features, why can’t we wait till we see the full thing before we write it off. Thing is, I understand that sentiment. and I see a lot of people chanting it should have been a PvE game with a side of PvP…but that’s just destiny in a different skin. As a sole PvP d2 player, I’m intrigued that bungie wants to make a game with a PvP focus. Cuz man, the PvP in destiny was always second to PvE. So although no one specifically wanted an extraction, I wouldn’t say we need a reskin of d2, something new is not something bad, we just have to see the full product to get a proper sense.

I think that regardless of whether they knew or not, people still feel like there should be consequences to these things and I think so too. What those are are up for debate. Do I personally want somebody to get fired or the game to get cancelled? Not really. I want proper compensation for antireal (which has only been hinted at so far) and for Bungie to apologize for the mishap in official forums and make sure it never happens again. And that's a minimum.

They have issued an apology and cross the art director apologized and they mentioned that they communicated to antireal to resolve this fairly and even suggested that an offer of working together is on the table. I would love to hear from antireals side on this as well. So I definitely see where you are coming from

then look at what happened with sonic frontiers that game got so much hate from everyone and it somehow did the impossible and turned out to be a good game that made everyone that played it enjoy the game

That's correct, they did issue an apology on a stream but I'd also ideally want an apology on their official webpage to make sure this communicated properly and that they take this seriously. But for me personally, how they deal with antireal is gonna heavily influence whether I actually buy this game or not. It would be great to hear all this from antireals side but I can totally understand if she chooses not to.

I really don’t know if they can pull off a September release. The main problem is, we don’t know what’s ready or not, they have been very vague on the content and features in many areas. It’s frustrating, but I also get it, they are trying to capture the story telling magic and secrets and create this curiousity, Not going as planned clearly. But I really think we should make a more critical judgement once we get our hands on the open beta, cuz that will be available for everyone as far as I know, and a beta is much more indicative of the final product

To be fair it was meant to be a small alpha with barebones, which they mentioned, it was also supposed to be NDA and for a very small number of people, but they removed the NDA and opened it to many more people after a lot of backlash of people wanting to get in, so it feels like by them listening and giving the people what they wanted in that case, they are getting punished for it. The alpha was always meant to be barebones, they have a full post about it before they opened the alpha

There's a lot of context in 6 years. 6 years could mean they started working on a direction that wasn't working and then switched to a new one later on in development.
