Iirc The division was the first to release the gameplay loop, but Tarkov really fleshed it out, plus that studio was driven with pure passion, I am kinda glazing but hey I've played the hell out of their browser shooter when I was a kid. They didn't expect the game to blow up this much, and they had no experience with making such a big game. Like they went from two arcade shooters to tarkov which is an insane leap. It also explains why the game has had so many optimization issues.

Also people complain that bsg uses Unity, but if they bothered to look into their history they've only made games in unity, can't blame them for choosing an engine that they have experience with.

I think Sakurai wanting games to have something unique to set it apart is kinda why some nintendo IPs are untouched. Like they could make an F-Zero that focuses on Captain falcon beating the shit out of bad guys rather than racing or just make another normal F-zero game with some extra mechanics. theres music in those cutscenes that are like legit lost media because they are embedded into the cutscenes its not a seperate audio track. Theres one song thats like, a ragae song they covered and i found the original a long time ago and i dont know the story behind that.
