It happened to me as well. However, it seems to happen every screen transition instead of just between nodes.

Going from 28 before the portal to 44 on the reward screen, then 71 on the map and finishing off at 115 when starting another fragment
This time with only the pumpkin and it keeps happening, no setup required. I'll try to test with other max health increase items if it does the same thing.
I can confirm that it does happened with the Brittle Breastplate as well. I bought it just before starting the recording and it still healed me after crossing the portal.

The Brittle Breastplate has also been healing me after exiting a level. I have had it twice in two separate runs and acted the same way both times. Maybe this is a bug with items that increase your max health

Pumpkin bug is back?! Literally the first release version had this bug and then it got fixed

I think the recent patch notes said there was a different bug with the pumpkin. Something like it kept adding to the max health every level instead of one time?
