#Plex and Jellyfin fail to setup in privileged mode with error 19 in Proxmox 8.4.14 and 9.1.2

It sounds like a gpu driver issue.
ill roll back 5 versions for nvidia
Issue persists. tried 580.76.05 and up to no success
Cant reproduce it, with pve 8.4 / 9.1
You on proprietary or GPL?
Intel igpu
gotcha
Your Screenshot isnt enough, there will be installed Intel drivers and passthrough Intel
this is Nvidia
This is intel
There is zero intel in this system
Like i Said, your Screenshot isnt enough
well id upload the log if it actually made it
It happens even without autodetecting video
What should i Said without Logs or more Output?
it isnt generating the log file
My Magic ball say "give me logs"
cant give logs if they do not exist
if you so insist
cant
shell wont let me go up all the way so ill have to rerun it
again. it doesnt make the logs
it auto removed the lxc
Damn...
it does each time it fails unless i enter no
yk what i mean
if i enter n then yeah it stays, but i havent kept it as im trying to get it to work
Then i cant Help
discovered the issue now
its privileged mode causing it
unprivileged plex works
now ill try jellyfin too
i need privileged for FUSE support though which is suboptimal
Then you have maybe the GPU passthrough into an VM? Nivida is quit stupid and cant handle this correctly
it passes through to a rhel 9.6 vm fine
Yeah and this can block the device at nvidia
Intel doesnt have this Issues
But no one of us has Nvidia Shit
its not passed through right now. that was a sanity check why i say it works
vm isnt even on the host anymore
Unprivi is good and worked, and priv not or what?
yeah priv doesnt work for plex at least
trying jellyfin rn
unprivileged jellyfin also works
privileged does not
so yeah.. plex and jellyfin will setup as unprivileged,
but fail with error 19 in privileged mode

all working fine priv.

need the logs from container install, otherwise i dont know whats wrong on your setup
would if I could
Create LXC with Script. Enable verbose, let it break, let it be with n, enter with pct enter and get logs
alright where do I go once in the lxc
the two systemd ones?
No 🤔 there should be an install.log
Strange
No kidding
Maybe at First i would say, Update your Host to 9.1 and try again? Maybe 8.4 fucked up at your system with AppArmor / privi?
makes the file on 9.1, but nothing in it
Plex and Jellyfin fail to setup in privileged mode with error 19 in Proxmox 8.4.14 and 9.1.2
ah i know the issue now i think.
ive build an test in dev repo, you can try it:
bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://git.community-scripts.org/community-scripts/ProxmoxVED/raw/branch/main/ct/plex.sh)"
Give feedback
and after this, maybe try this;
bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://git.community-scripts.org/community-scripts/ProxmoxVED/raw/branch/main/ct/plex2.sh)"
first one fails
im not the most knowledgeable but is it trying to ref the container ID while inside the container?
What are your devices?
oh its the 2070 and the host gt 710
gt 710 actually isn't even used right now and intended to be passed through to a vm specifically using it
ill eventually move to the 2070 doing everything
same issue for the plex script
being that I have the 710, ill try with the old 480 drivers again temporarily with te new scripts
I mean in Linux /Dev/dri paths
He did not recognize your Nvidia ad Nvidia. You are the only with this issue, because i know that Nvidia Bypass Work from other users
rebooted after reinstalling driver the for the upteenth time

main script default (unprivileged) resources:
so dev script isnt working at all for me
first dev script default unprivileged:
so even with a fresh driver install and reboot, the dev script isnt working at all, even when unprivileged.
The main script at least runs unprivileged to its entirety and I can confirm it does work. Just doesn't support FUSE since its unprivileged so i cant pull files to test transcoding
Omitting it auto detecting video hangs the install nvm it just took a weirdly long time
you can try again please
