#My review after 25 hours in 2 days (positives/negatives and needed changes)

After playing the beta for 25 hours i have some thoughts. Ill start with the things I liked. This game has the juice but i definitely need some time in the oven.

Positives

  • I HAD FUN. i played partied up with 2 other people for most of my gameplay (we each had a different class) then did solo content later.
  • the vibe of the game.
  • the bosses. The instance chrono gates were really cool and the bosses were all really well done . The field bosses were unique and you have to approach them differently (unless you were a ranger). The fourth chrono gate boss was SICK.
  • the chronotector. when you have all the skills it can really change your gameplay and I like that a lot.
  • I felt myself get addicted to the gameplay loop, I wanted better armor, i wanted more damage, etc.... I couldn't wait to get on with my friends and grind.
  • the quests we had access too are fun and not overly long.
  • The dungeon was awesome. We went in under leveled and got ****** up. this is good. i like when stuff is hard. make it even harder.
  • the skills. The skills were flashy and cool and each character had a defined loop in their gameplay that you could mess with. I liked that a lot and it was easy to digest (more on this later though)
  • The time portals. They were a cool concept and I hope to see even more reasons to do them in the future. I like the armor sets you get and the rare resources, but I need the juice. Give me some lore i can pick up or something. also it needs to scale with your party. The solo and the party one were the exact same. We went in HEAVILY under leveled and still cakewalked it with no issues.
  • The labyrinths (more on this later) - They are a cool concepts and some of them were very enjoyable to do, though very short. more on this in the bad section.
  • The trial. This was a top 3 for me. I really enjoyed it, very well done i love the choices you have to do a different run each time.

Negatives

-The skill trees - we NEED deeper skill trees. I was able to unlock everything in 20-25 hours. This is not enough.
-The graphics and textures. I know this is beta, and these a very easy fixes but you need to have these up there on the list with performance issues.
Performance issues. This game runs HORRIBLY. I have a pretty good PC, and most UE5 games run maxed/almost maxed out at 120 frames. I was struggling to hit 60 (on medium-high settings) with lows at 8-10 fps. Made the game feel very stuttery and hard to play.
-The movement. God, I HATE the movement (the moving platform labyrinth). The momentum has to be adjusted. So many deaths from jumping just a little too high and rolling off the platform. We NEED directional input on the roll. Also, the double jump is very inconsistent. I don't know if this is by design, but it feels bad. The stamina bar needs to be infinite when you are not in combat. Running felt heavy.
-The texture mapping. There were places where i was straight up running through walls and standing on invisible floors with floating grass.
-The lock-on. I am a controller player and the lock on SUCKS. It is very delayed and we need faster character movement to keep up with it. I found myself never using it.
-The labyrinths (again). There is no reason to do them besides some chronotector points. They need more enemies and more mechanics. The puzzles took all of 10 seconds to figure out. The combat encounters got steamrolled. The boss was super easy because I had the 4th summon.
-The crafting cost of ancestral gear. My god, this is so expensive for no reason. The void matter is incredibly rare due to only being able to get it in one place (next point), and the primitive iron ingot needing 15 ore instead of 6 like every other is weird for some reason.
-The void nexus. I liked it and would love to farm it…….if it ever appears. My whole playthough it only spawned….twice. And i got one void matter the entire time.

I want to say that this game has TONS of potential, you guys have something fun here. I am a huge fan of the souls like combat and with some time in the oven i think you could have the next big thing. Thank you for letting me be a part of this beta test and I hope to be a part of the next one.

some of the things your commenting on makes no sense. Skill tree? you are only seeing the first 15-20 levels of stuff. ancestral gear. Half the stuff u can farm from it is in later zones.

I unlocked the entire skill tree for the Ranger in about 20 hours. That was all of the skills I was able to use for all three weapons. The skill trees are tiny compared to every single other MMO/rpg. The void Nexus being the only place to get void matter is dumb unless each zone has 2 to 3 nexus events. when the server gets completely turned on and thousands of people are on the same server it’s gonna be extremely hard to get this super rare element no matter how many zones there are.
