yeah i think there was too many supplies thrown at you + being able to long rest whenever kind of removes any sort of strategy or downsid

like you can make make 4 nova builds and just spam rest after every single fight if you really wanted to

... also a lot of story moments are tied to long rests so it practically incentivizes that anyway

and it almost instantly broke

so my tav was out for 2 rounds

I sent wyll in with spirit guardians to clear the skeleton piles

that broke early too, and then he was out there alone and got killed

I misty step'd gale to free nightsong early, and dimension door'd myself and karlach to the mind flayer platform, threw mind flayer into the spirit guardians and 1-rounded him

thought it went well

but I went too early for myrkul I think

because there were so many skeletons

and they fucking sac themselves and heal him

and give him a ridiculously strong ability

nightsong died twice and I had to help her up

wyll died early and there was no point ressing him

my tav had no spellslots, gale was very low on them

karlach had no rage so she was just natty-throwing and he takes half damage from piercing

was rough

i thought i could long rest between doing every single encounter and interaction in the colony and going down there

.. which you can, but it's with the restoration pod, which I used BEFORE doing all those encounters

thought it had more charges

anyway, im level 10 and headed to act 3

so technically you can never fail if you just leave a companion in your camp with enough gold for resses, but then you have to 3-man the game xd

in act 3 there are so many gimmicky overlapping crazy mechanics

it takes longer to do all the things to prepare for a fight pre-pull

than the fight itself

@ancient spire I'll offer a counterpoint and say that since you're a smort minmaxer, you can do first playthrough on Tactician. I did, and it was a struggle at times cuz I had 0 DnD knowledge or experience or understanding
