If you ||fully read the necromancy of thay AND read one of the leggo books in that sorc tower in act you unlock the ability. The book also gives 20 bonus hp every long rest if you dispell the curse. ||

So far for me it was ||Raphael||, Google broadly agrees

A lot of people struggled with ||Shar people||, I just did that and had an easy time

I did my first playthrough on balanced so idk if this counts

honestly the hardest fight would probably be ||defending emerald grove without cheese|| I think

the later the game gets and the better your gear/spells get I think it smooths out difficulty wise
