Obviously i was imprinting my base as i went along saving it everytime i either fuckd up the tree or it hit

like i mean generally just grinding up shitter mobs is fun but honestly thats pretty easy and every arpg does this
but in poe i just go clear a map and do as much or as little of it as i want
in d4 i do a nightmare dungeon and have to do all these random world quest chores to complete it for the bulk of the reward

i wouldnt mind nightmare dungeons forcing me into random layouts, but like my god i hope they give up on making us actually do these quirky objectives

Its just the catch all label for the league mechanics where you click something and then have to stand in a circle (or something close to that) and fight mobs. Its a tiny bit outdated as they have done other things since then, but at one time it seemed like it was kinda just reskins of the same mechanic. Mostly because they had Ritual and then the next league had Ultimatum which was pretty much the same
Crucible would also have been a circle league if the mobs it spawned actually mattered/was focus for the league mechanic
