because IF D4 is a smashing success, it will kill off POE if POE is not in a good state

they already struggle enough with player retention in a market that they currently dominate

let alone if D4 ends up dominating they'll be back to 50k players per league

and I hope blizzard and ggg will make sure their leagues don't overlap, because it would be nice to play both all the time but just not at the same time

Yeah taht would be really annoying if the seasons overlap. I feel like GGG intentionally have left out a lot of updates on PoE2 and saved them as a emergency card to pull when Diablo 4 drops in case it turns out positive

Personally my expections for D4 is pretty mild. I think it will be a great game, dont think it will be p2w despite what people like to say. Biggest concern is how the end game works, as in im not really up to date on the system.
But im pretty confident it will be worth my money and give some good hours of entertainment.

I think D4 will be a good game

End game is a map dungeon system which you need keys or maps for

you can also roll those maps

it's going to be similar to poe but not convoluted like poe

but there's also two end game features that will not be coming with the launch

they are still working on those for the first major patch which will come at the same time as the first season

they did mention seasons are going to introduce new playstyle, features and mechanic similar to poe leagues

core items are not hard to farm in this game

they are tied to a specific monolith boss

so you just farm that and spawn boss until you get it

bosses don't have big legendary pools either, usually 3-5 items

so a 20% or higher dropchance

Sounds great ! - Biggest hate jerk about D4 (other then its surely going to be p2w based on.. D:I) is that its going to be too dumbed down. But dont really know about that. I mean I like to pretend im a big IQ poe player, but really all im doing is following a build guide, plugging things into pob and see if its a "up or down arrow" on dps and I think its safe to assume most is like that

you can expand your stash with gold

i would keep them

some might be good for leveling a second char in the future

but at end game you only wanna keep legendaries with legendary potential

because you can fuse them with epic gear end gamee

and add mods to them

so for example a legendary potential of 4 allows you to fuse a same base exalted weapon onto that legendary and it will take all 4 mods

and add them to the item

leg potential 3 will take 3 random mods from an exalted item, and so on

crafting is easy, you wanna know what stats you want, pick up those items

the shatter them with a shattering rune

them use them to upgrade affixes on a proper or good item

Tbh playing last epoch has convinced me that Poe will never die at least for me, it's been fun probably more fun than D3 but it just doesn't scratch that Poe itch and from what I've seen/heard of d4 no matter how great that game is it won't scratch the Poe itch either
