A whiplash is a combination of a wavedash and a flutter dash, from what i can tell, it travels the distance of the flutter dash and a bit more significantly faster (it likely stops at around the same point as the flutter dash, but because the wavedash part of it makes it arc up more at the end, you can glide further.)

to do a whiplash, begin the inputs for a wavedash and then dash right after you bounce out of your headbutt into the floor.

funny side effect of its speed, much like the flutter dash, doing this into a ball will, if done properly, punt the ball, and i believe a bit faster than a flutter dash can normally.
