this honestly isnt even that true tbh, almost all combos can work besides things like double defender, the vast majority of 2v2 is strategy and teamwork, not beetle comps. Also even if it were true, just find a person who mains a beetle that goes well with the beetle you main in 2v2
and the call thing is just a them issue icl, the same things in 3v3
