Thank you for your report
Take a look and make sure your post has followed the checklist:
List the game version if you have not done so, this is found on the bottom right of the screen in game! Ex: 0.2.18
Provide a detailed title and description of the bug along with any ways to replicate it if known.
Provide any relevant screenshots or videos if you have any.
Make sure your game is not modded in any way.
If you have more than one bug reported please make individual posts for each one!
If your post is more of an idea or feedback, please remake your post in https://discord.com/channels/1293653197046550568/1294202867728515122 and let us know in here when you've done that.
If you have a lost/corrupted save please open a support ticket: https://discord.com/channels/1293653197046550568/1296863134958751835
Following the checklist makes it easier for us to organize and process your reports. Thank you!
I have no way of seeing the game version unfortunately and i dont use any mods
Hi! Lets see if we can figure out what is going on. First a couple of quick checks, make sure your hard drive storage space is not to full. Also make sure graphics drivers are up to date. Did you get any kind of Windows pop up at all when trying to boot the game?
This window pops up for a split second, and i have 64gb of free space and my drivers are up to date
Gotcha, real quick could you send over a screenshot of your system specs? I know you said it meets the requirements but sometimes it helps knowing the hardware when figuring out issues like this. If you could go to the Windows About PC section and take a screenshot that would be great! I attached an img of what we are looking for.
Got it, do you happen to be running on a laptop? I see multiple GPUs installed which usually means someone is either running on a laptop or they are using integrated graphics on their desktop which can cause issues.
You could try a few quick fixes, try verifying the file integrity on Steam (If you dont know how to do so let me know I am happy to assist!). Also try booting the game with no other programs in the background, sometimes having other things open like a web browser or Discord can cause issues.
It does look like you have a decent amount of storage space left. However, you could also try uninstalling/deleting a few files to try getting your available storage closer to 20% of your hard drive space. It has helped people in the past with similar crashing/boot issues.
Let me know if any of these help, if not we may have to grab some files to send over to the dev team!
Im using a laptop, ive verified the files and tried running without any other programs open. I dont really want to delete any of my files, i had less storage space a couple days ago when the game was running fine so i doubt that is the issue
No worries, in that case when you get the chance could you check to see if you have a crashes folder? If so be sure to send it over to us, I can send it to the dev team to see if there is anything they can see that may be able to help fix the issue!
C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Temp\CayPlay\WaterparkSimulator\Crashes
Where \XXXXX\ is your PC's username
An easy way to get to it is by pressing Windows Key + R Key to open the Run window.
Paste this command:
%localappdata%\Temp\CayPlay\WaterparkSimulator\Crashes
I couldnt share the files directly in discord so i hope google drive is fine!
thank you for all the help so far
If the folder was to large you could just right click the crashes folder and compress it to a zip file and send it in here! If you dont feel comfortable sending your files in here I can open a private support ticket for you to do so! We dont normally click on links for safety purposes, we could also remove the link that way nobody random tries to request access to you drive share.
Awesome thank you! Ill send this over, in the meantime be sure to keep an eye out on updates as this also may help with the issue. If there is any information I get or have anything else you can try out to fix the issue I will be sure to let you know. If you end up getting it to work also keep me updated! We appreciate the patience!
Ok thank you so much!!
Hi! Just wanted to follow up to see if its working at all. If not I am curious if setting the graphics all the way down could at least get the game starting. I believe this worked a couple times in the past for people so its worth a try! We can do this through the files without opening the game:
- Access the Waterpark Simulator folder by pressing Windows Key + R Key to open the Run window.
Paste this command:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\CayPlay\WaterparkSimulator
-
You should see a
settings.jsonfile, right click the file and open it with notepad. -
Find the "Video" section, change the QualityPreset to 0, TextureQuality to 3 and AntialiasingType to 0. (Screenshot attached for reference)
-
Save the file and boot the game, it should now run with those graphic settings.
Hi sorry for late reply i dont check my notifs too often lol but i tried that and it unfortunately didnt work :(
