on /details/Gary_Gadget_Building_Rockets_Dev_Env the video i uploaded there shows (albeit very slowly) the clip being played in an Windows XP VM and does show it plays sound correctly (i probably could have tuned VMWare better).

Some data has been removed from the Miel 5.iso as that data isn't loaded from the disc but locally instead. The full ISO can be found on the same site under: /details/miel-ruimte

I believe this is all i have to share, i do want to give credit to DrBrakbek as i used his script/solution to understand how to get the game to work (did tweak his script a bit, but it isn't much better besides removing daemontools and using powershell command's)

And a Director game? Yeah, those have problems, too. Have you tried using wrappers like dgvoodoo2, dxvk, dxwrapper or dxwnd? Problem is, that FlashPlayer has been removed in modern Windows as well as ddraw support being deprecated. I highly recommend to continue with a VM or rebuilding the game like I started with the first Skipper and Skeeto game (check itch io). This game was made with Director 5 and it even refuses to run nicely in my XP VM but needs a 98SE one to run smooth

Mmm, I used for the game webmaster dgvoodoo2 but didn’t saw any difference or the watermark
But I can certainly try it!
And I see, forgot flash player was baked into windows! Always though it was a seperste component

Well of course, modding and fixing old games does include LEGO games. Maybe #1405335305082507294 will be fixed one time as well

I actually fixed Lego rock raiders, released some fun dlc and found all languages

I only touched Lego alpha team and Lego rock raiders the most
Other games were more famous 🙂 but I hope ya played those two aswell (or maybe wanna give them a go)

After I finished those, I went to the last few old games I hold dear
Which are the Gary gadget and webmaster

Tho I feel mostly sad about Gary gadget as I wished I could get it to run without an iso

Cutscene missing sound is a bummer, but I think it may be to hard to fix ever

I almost finished Alpha team on my previous PC, only Rock Raiders is the game I don't get warm with, I even installed it in 86Box

Must admit rock raiders feels like playing a lot against the rock raiders ai
Really gotta micro manage and take it step by step and not open everything at once

Playing it on an emulated Voodoo graphics card is great, but maybe Manic Miners is a better choice for me

To play without CD you just need to create a no CD crack or put the CD files to a expected location

Hmm, that’s an option yea
I don’t think I can incoperate that into the game itself but I’m thinking of trying to use scummvm, it’s a long shot but technically it can be packaged like the humongous entertainment games on steam

@supple ocean sadly, both games are using a director version that isn't supperted by scummvm it seems, so i think with these two games i'm completly out of luck really

The biggest issue with these old Director games is that they had a lot of dependencies Flash. With this game, you could try dxwnd and hook DirectSound in the Sound tab. But my recommended solution will always be a Windows XP VM with Virtual Clone Drive, just create an iso from your disc, if it has some stupid copy protection you'll have to get a licensed version of CloneCD.

Mmmm, good suggestion I can always try dxwnd yea! I’ll try that tonight and let ya know!
Would be rad if that fixes the sound part! Then I could repost this post where I only seek for help to make it iso-less

but i did find a program that can run portabbly from adobe i think officially, the .swf files,
i think i'll mention for the webmaster to play the .mov files through the quicktime and just watch all that stuff seperatly during gameplay

ya know, that's maybe not as perfect as i hoped for, but still it allows the full game to be played withoud vm's, and perhaps that's the best way to put these games behind me 🙂
