Correct, but I guess you could swap some files like using the difficultylevel.nxd from Basic Difficulty instead of mine.

In my mod, it has been fine-tuned to better suit my gameplay changes.

Same goes for the equipment; if you prefer the equipitem.nxd from Eikonic Equipment, you can swap it too. Because I've changed abilities+magic potency through attackparam .


Action.nxd was changed to include animation canceling.
Combo.nxd was changed to include custom Magic Burst Combo Finishers.
Command.nxd for the cooldowns, "Blade Beam" (Heatwave 1), "Judgment Cut" (Zan Lvl 1), upgraded Lunge/Downthrust.

As I need some more testing and feedbacks, here is the current version :).

You will need Logos Unleashed in order to make it work; so please make sure that the order is like in my screenshot. Please note that other mods modifying items, equipments, cooldowns, difficulty, commands might cause some issues with my own mod.

Before using my own mod, I would also suggest going into Logos Unleashed's folder, make a copy of both Logos Unleashed command.nxd and renaming the original files to command_bck.nxd to avoid potential conflicts with my own mod (for now).

Don't forget to rename both files back to command.nxd if you are not using my mod or my custom command.nxd.

It might take some time to get used to these changes, indeed xD.

Did you try on a endgame savefile with all equipments/gear?

Some of them don't provide defense in exchange for increased passive effect or stagger bonuses, but I can change this since enemies hit harder.

I think I'm gonna go for the same initial defense & HP bonuses on all gear but split differently according to the item and the upgrade level.

I tried to go for a thematic/set for some items (such as the ones improving the counter abilities โ€” Heatwave, Scarlet Cyclone, Rook's Gambit, Raging Fists).

WIP:
I have changed the Magic Bursts through the combo table instead of action.

And it seems that I can set different basic combos/Magic Bursts depending on Clive's age and Limit Break. Gonna do further testing, but it might give some sense of progression to Clive's battle performance/talent through the game :).

Yes, I have lowered all weapons stats to put more emphasis on the passive effects and players' skills.

Bosses/Enemies hit stronger in general, but their HP+Stagger Resistance were slightly changed due to this.

Fixed weapons from Kairos Gate were left as they are, beside attaching a passive effect on them (same one as Invictus).

Since belts and vambraces have passive effects too, you can have some interesting combination.

Like a build focused on Rook's Gambit or Raging Fists, Heatwave, etc.

That's where play-testing will be very important. I did not go through the whole game to test everything yet, as I was still tweaking some values until recently xD.

But I feel like it might be okay, because enemies don't have a defense stat in FFXVI. So I've slightly decreased their HP+ Stagger Gauge/Resistance to make up for it.

I removed the abilities cost of Clive's basic kit in the skills table.
The layout is already updated with the required info; "UpgradeCost" column.

Text was modified in the first Description column.

For the Combo Finishers (Magic Bursts), I've changed the combo table.
Here is a screen from Nenkai's WIP combo table which already features info regarding Magic Bursts.

What I can share about this table is:

  • Rows 3-6: Adult Clive

  • 8-12: Arm of Darkness

  • 13-16: Teen Clive

  • 24-27: Limit Break

  • 113-116: Berserker Mode (from Berserker Ring)

  • Rows 53-56 seems to be related to ||Ultima||, but I'm not 100% sure.
    @frosty crest Can you confirm this?

Hello everyone! Here is an updated WIP version of the mod.
This one should be even more consequent (please read the original post for all features);

  • More equipments have been changed

  • Odin moveset has been revamped:
    As previous versions, you deal far more damage in that mode compared to the original game.
    You can use Rift Slip with Special Button (O) in that mode. Taunt is now used to sheathe Odin's blade.
    In that mode, abilities are set to 1 - Heaven's Cloud (Murakumo in the mod) | 2 - Dancing Steel (Hassou Tobi).
    You can do regular aerial attacks and Magic Bursts/Finishers but it will not fill the Zantetsuken Gauge. The first 2 attacks in the ground combo can be changed into Magic Bursts/Combo Finishers.

  • Bahamut moveset was slightly changed:
    In that mode, abilities are now set to 1 - Impulse | 2 - Gigaflare.

  • Limit Break:
    Clive will use stronger version of the usual Combo Finishers.
    You can now heal yourself with "Firelight" in Limit Break with D-Pad Right.
    Ignition -> Lunge/Downthrust.
    Will-o'-the-Wykes (when it's working... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) -> Taunt.

@wraith pike okay testing it out and so far so good @ martha rest. however the stormfury weapon you can forge after garuda is very poor in comparison to the +2s you can forge at that time - they give almost double the attack

also a lot of the early gear has modifers for abilities you arnet going to get for a long time, and I assume you will have better gear?

also the iron belt mentions your noble steed damage. is this for Ambrosia? I dont recall she ever contributes much damage to begin with

also I have 7 meteorites by this point and most +2s needed one. you may want to increase either the number of items needed to forge +2s or increase the wydrite (sp) amount need, like mthunder did on his mod

if I could make a suggestion, go along with mthundr's stats on the eikonic weapon mod but lower them equally by whatever percentage you feel confortable with. maybe 30-50%? they did a great job on balancing them

I would try to keep all crafted weapons similiar stats on +1/2,3, ect upgrades but some weapons w/o upgrades will need to be a bit higher to be a viable option. ie. why should I use the stormcry weapon for decreases in garuda's abilities cooldowns when there are much better weapons that increase my combo damage.

okay @wraith pike thank you so much. I reviewed the weapons and my take is that all crafted eikon weapons should be 150 str and 130 will. their FF versions should be 225 and 200 will. that way they are viable options to the +2 and +3 versions of the 'basic swords'. I think you should change omega weapon though to not be using potions but a flat 5% extra damage ala genji gloves

this will ensure all weapons have that 150-250 range that allows people to pick and choose depending on their play style and not feel they are weakening themselves substantially

okay last post I swear, the more I think about it, the more I feel that the joy of finding new weapons as the game progresses should stay. I propose then to make +3s for the basic swords able to be upgrade after the time skip (capping at 180 attack), with +4 now available (capping at 295, which is the original rune sword +4 stats) before attempting ash. this makes ragnarok and gotterdammerung maintain their prized status

if possible making a line of elemental swords +1 that you can make before ash that cap at 280 str/will plus their respective eikon's ability cooldown descreases

in the above scenario, only changes I would make would be ancient sword at 325 str/ 50 will, no enhancement (for those who wants pure damage at the expense of stagger), upgrade excalibur to 270 plus its bonuses, change masamune to 275, and reduce defender to 295 max at +3 (so starting at 250?),

with all swords upgraded, you now have the all the +4 weapons and all found weapons between 270-295 attack, and varying stagger

#

as to how to gate the +3 and +4s, just require an ingredient you cant get until after the time skip, or from side quests unlocked after starting the second part and then after the battle with slepnir. that would go along way to making side quests relevant if they were needed to get items to upgrade gear!

I like your most recent idea, but I'm not sure if we can (yet) do what you would like to achieve. This kind of changes could be a mod on itself. If someone is up for the challenge, they can take over xD.

So in the end, I went for the 1st alternative; boosting weapons but trying to keep them around the 150-250 ranges. I'm gonna double check the availability of some passive effects to avoid spoiling the game for newcomers. And then I will release a first public version of the mod and get back to gaming for a while.

There was one more thing Solo I was wondering about, could we increase those stat boost accessories up to 100 at max level? They are rather useless otherwise since the stat bonuses are so low. Maybe like 20, 50,75, and then 100 at +3?

I did some tests:

  • LOGOS can be used, but you will have to rename the command.nxd from Logos (for example, to: command_bck.nxd) as it will have some conflicts with my own custom command file. However, the mod is required for some of the new Eikon command inputs (like [Ability + Jump] or [Ability + Eikon Feat] buttons or [Up/Down + Eikon Feat] buttons).

  • MYTHOS works (if you have already renamed LOGOS command.nxd); you will have to put my mod before MYTHOS. However, if you don't rename MYTHOS command.nxd, and in general, it will cancel some of my changes such as the modified cooldown system, modified commands, Heatwave as ground charged magic, etc.

played a little today and it looks great so far ๐Ÿ™‚ i love the new abilities you added and the stat corrections. one weird thing though that's been bugging me, why does Rising Flame sometimes get stuck in some kind of a windup phase before going off? it doesnt happen everytime but when it does it's locked for up to 3 seconds

As far as I remember, Rising Flames was always like this (I have only changed the ability potency and cooldown). I think you mean the "hitstop"/animation slowdown that occurs when the wing strikes the enemy?

It's faster in the basic version, but the upgraded version (which does additional hits) is slower to make it feel more powerful.

perhaps in a future patch, increasing all ff mode weapons by 40 attack would be a good idea just for some nice power creep since the difference between gotter normal and +1 is only 50

but omega + is 70 attack higher than its closest weapon, the fallen enforcer+ and +80 more than Ultima Weapon, when they were more equal in FF mode

In essence, they are the same items.

But they provide some stats bonuses, have been split into different types (belts, vambraces, accessories) to free up slots for accessories.

And have been refurbished to my likings just for some easter eggs or lore reason.

So yeah, just rename equipitem.nxd to equipitem_bck.nxd for example. Also you have to rename recipe.nxd as it was changed through Eikonic Equipment (to fit the new weapon upgrade path).

Therefore, you won't have to download the mod all over again if you wanna use my modded equipments in the future ๐Ÿ‘ .

@wraith pike @frosty crest I hit my first snag with the eikon weapon overhaul and solo's adaption of it right before oriflamme. ive been getting every chest I can and looking around but I barely have 250 wyrrite. I still need 250 just to upgrade any ONE basic sword to +1 (which is still 1/2 the attack of my current weapon) and then another 1000(!) to get to +2, which puts it in line with my current weapon. Charon doesnt sell wyrrite until titan is defeated so it essentially negates anyone ever really upgrading them for a large portion of the game. Kind takes the customization fun out of it

otherwise, everything has been working smoothly with the mod, mobs are just challenging enough and the new abilities are great

Hey! So, you can use Magic Bursts (hereafter MB) to unleash some "burst finishers" (combo finishers). Limit Break uses the same config as the regular moveset but with upgraded finishers. Teen Clive moveset is more limited.

< Regular Moveset >

  • Ground MB1: Basic Magic Burst (can be chained with a regular attack)

  • GR MB 2: Rising Flames

  • GR MB 3: Ground Burning Blade

  • GR MB 4 : Scarlet Cyclone

  • Air MB 1: Air Burning Blade

  • Air MB 2: Wicked Wheel

  • Air MB 3: Final Air Magic Burst

Hello everyone!
Here is a WIP version for the 1.3 update.

Please remove the 'FFXVI' folder from my mod folder and replace it with the one in the zip. I took the opportunity to correct the mod structure folder.

It's a small update, but here are the changes so far:

Mod's structure folder has been changed/corrected; you can play in your language of preference, but the equipment, items, commands and skills will be in English or French. However, make sure that the game language and the regional format of your OS are set to the same language!

|| - Basic Swords upgrades for +1/+2 require fewer Wyrrites (100 instead of 500, 500 instead of 1000).

  • Combo Finishers (triggered from Magic Bursts) are now called "Burst Finishers".
  • Regular Magic now inflicts more Will damage.
  • Stomp now inflicts some Will damage.
  • ODIN: Using "Rengeki" (Gungnir) while attuning to Odin should no longer crash the game.
  • ODIN: [Lunge] set to Dark Launcher.
  • RAMUH: While using "Blind Justice"; "Lightning Rod" is now set to 1st ability slot / "Judgment Bolt" is now set to 2nd ability slot -> As with any other abilities, it will cancel Blind Justice.
  • (Experimental) CLIVE: Basic ground combo has a fifth attack that can be chained with Flash of Steel as a Burst Finisher.
  • (Experimental) CLIVE: Basic aerial combo has a fourth attack, Burst Finishers have been changed accordingly.
  • CLIVE: Attacking while running towards a foe will trigger a long range fiery attack. ||

Hey there, unsure if it have to do with the preview or not but since i'm using it i'll report here, during the very early game, during the fall when you're the phoenix against ifrit you cannot use fireball when using your mod, removing it temporarily made me able to attack

Note that this is for the second cutscene (after the dragoon) i didn't install the mod correctly at first so for the very first scene with phoenix so i don't know if it affect that part too (probably)

EDIT : going back to the nexus version temporarily allow you to finish the phoenix cutscene

That was the first issue, i wasn't using the correct regional settings, thus the mod wasn't working (but i didn't know yet since there was no supposed change) i realized when i tried to use RB+A as it was writen jump i was curious and it crashed my game, some research made me install it correctly around the goblin quest.

Are you using any other mod?
I'm using only FFXVI fix and all the requirement for those two (mod loader, mod framework and Logos unleashed (with both the renamed command files)

Was the Fireball command shown properly in the UI/the screen ?
It was shown proprely in the UI, unless the restart itself fixed it, removing the mod fixed the issue

I should add at first i specifically used the english 1.2 version of your mods and i crashed, then tried the french one (i'm french) still crashed, then changed regional settings AND used the 1.3 beta which worked well.

So after some deep thinking, I'm gonna revert some changes; mostly restore some basic actions such as the ground charged magic shot (to avoid disrupting the overall gameplay flow too much) and most custom commands from Logos Unleashed (think about Shift Wave) to prepare the ground for the mod next update :D.

The Attack Debuff will be associated with Odin's blade counterattacks.

@wraith pike hi solo I have made some big changes to the weapons in this mod that I will share here in the next few days, while I iron out some things

My biggest change is to make the basic swords (pre time skip) have a 95/145/195 track while post skip swords have a 145/175/195 track. The idea is that players will be able to reforge all sword to +1 (145) by Drakes Head, and then 195 at waloud. The other swords will reach +1 (175) shortly before the Dominion and then 195 at waloud. However the bonuses on the basic weapons are so good that they make up for the 30+ till the end and then at +2, the later swords have slightly higher potencies of their abilities, to give players will different builds more options

Found and crafted swords are carefully balanced to be just as good as their bought and upgraded counterparts

I am toying with changing elemental swords to give flat 15% bonuses to all abilities related to that eikon, with the higher versions giving 20%

Hello! The latest update (1.3.2) should work with both versions.

Please make sure that Logos Unleashed is placed before my own mod in Reloaded-II.

I love the mod so far but gotta agree on what others have said on Nexus the equipment nerf is too significant. I wish there was a variant of this mod that had all the passive effects without the nerfs or at least a lower degree of nerfing - makes my favorite stagger build with tonberry blade much more harder to achieve.

in my mod the weapons increase in strength with each type but you can upgrade them to be equal at 2 points in the game

Hey! You can revert Burning Blade back to the previous level in the Skill tree to have the regular Burning Blade back.

Although, during Limit Break, Clive will use the usual Burning Blade.

You can also set any of the Combo Finishers in Logos Unleashed's config menu as Burning Blade with one of these actions:

  • 174 - Ground Burning Blade
  • 175 - Air Burning Blade
  • 309 - Limit Break Ground Burning Blade
  • 310 - Limit Break Air Burning Blade

And actually I don't think my mod or Logos Unleashed are really mandatory for yours ๐Ÿ™‚.

My Void Slash is basically Zantetsuken 1 (with the extra slowdown effect). However, I did create an atk_type for Odin's basic swordplay instead of using attackparam in my mod (works because the corresponding equipments don't affect anything else).

Yes, but there is gonna be an issue with the Combo Finisher after Air Attack II:
You have set the ID 309, which is the Limit Break Ground Burning Blade.

I can also see that you have set the Normal Air Burning Blade as a Combo Finisher after Air Attack III. Was it intended?

What you've done here is take every ground combo finisher and replace it with ground / air normal / LB burning blade

If you simply wanted to have access to burning blade through any of the combo finishers, just take 174 (ground normal burning blade) and set it to any of the four ground slots

#

If you wanted to have air burning blade instead, use 175 and attach it to any of the tree air slots

#

Or maybe you are currently using the Berserker Ring (rebranded as "Infernal Reflection" in the mod)? After a precision dodge, it will change your basic swordplay for a few seconds.

It seems that you are not playing in English.

-> Someone on Nexus Mods had a similar issue. It should be fixed if you play in English.

After switching the game language + system regional format, you need to restart the game and possibly Reloaded-II (which I always do).

Great news!!!

Yeah, actually, for Logos Unleashed, it might be the reason why it is not working with my mod if not set to English.

These localized nxd files are not in the proper folder.
If command.nxd and skill.nxd are placed in the correct folder in this situation, it should normally work with my mod if you play in Chinese.

In Logos Unleashed folder, go to FFXVI/data.
Then create 2 new folders:

  • 0007.cs
  • 0007.ct

Inside each folder, create a nxd folder.
And then inside the new nxd folder, paste a copy of both command.nxd and skill.nxd from FFXVI/data/nxd

Ok, I did exactly what you said and it works now when I play in Chinese, no more crashes. the only problem is that the skill description didn't match the English version, for example, air lunge. I think I'll stick with English for better clarity. thank you again for all the help and your amazing mod!!

So basically, when I play in Chinese, Eikonic Overhaul's skill description overrides Logos Unleashed's one, but I guess if you know what each of the mods does well enough, this shouldn't be a problem. @wraith pike

I will be working soon on an update which will remove custom swords & the passive effects from weapons to avoid conflicts with on-going (Alternative Armory System) and future mods such as UltiMarvelous.

I had a look at my modded equipment again, and most of the effects applied on the weapon are actually duplicated from the modded gear and accessories:

    1. Have them both available for the players (alternative equipitem file on Nexus Mods)

Iโ€™m leaning more towards option 2. Since your Eikonic Overhaul mod already cuts skill cooldowns by a lot, the lower weapon stats actually feel pretty balanced. Personally, I like focusing on combos, so weaker stats just mean I get more chances to engage with bosses. But thatโ€™s just me, others might prefer the higher stats. So in the end, option 3 could be the best call, since it lets everyone play the way they like.

I'm more likely to stay with the current version, tho, because I do like those passive effects of weapons.

With FF16Tools (for converting the nxd file back and forth) and
SQLite Studio (for editing the table itself).

Hello! I'm really sorry to bother, I have no idea how to convert NXD to SQLITE files to try and hopefully edit them myself. If it's okay for me to request, may I have a command.nxd file where the cooldowns for Ultimates are 90s basic, 100s upgraded, then 90s mastered for all Ultimates including Odin and DLC? I've read the tutorial but I just can't wrap my head around how to use the command prompt to convert files.

Edit: I've gotten help on how to edit the command.nxd file myself and am able to change cooldowns to my liking! I'm a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff and now I'm really glad I have an idea just how much work goes into this stuff lol! Thank you for your incredible mod!

Ok, as I thought. You need to install WinRar and then extract the compressed file.

Then inside, just take the command.nxd inside the main_alt-command folder and copy it into the 007.en/nxd folder (where you can find skills.nxd, equipitem.nxd, etc).

Hello everyone! vergil_motivated

I have been working on a new update for a few days, changing different things as well as bringing back [Burst Finishers] in a less disruptive way. Basically, they replace the regular Magic Bursts only in some specific instance.

Full changelog can be read in the attached file. As usual, the new update should work fine with other gameplay mods (Logos Unleashed, Eikonic Parries, Eikonic Loadout, Custom Difficulty, etc).

Before installing this version, make sure to remove the previous public release (1.3.2) to avoid any conflicts.

PS: Regarding the mod's translation, only English will be supported from now on.
