Skagerrak-Kattegat could be a cool name

or maybe The Sound: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Øresund. Similar to vague names like Two Lakes, Between 2 Seas and Gateway

I think both of em' are good. But I like this one more, because the intersection in between the danish islands would add some interesting trading (and so if you include more of Norway/Sweden, there would be more trading!)

I do have a question though... Is it too late to change the name of the map?

"The Straits" sounds so... generic. I think it would be better if the name used was something regionally specific, like "Kattegat" (the name of the sea between Denmark and Sweden). Even just "Denmark & Sweden" or "Danish Straits" would do, but I would prefer Kattegat. ^>^

Mhm, but this and Kattegat are not just geographically central in the map, they're also kind of the features that the map's theme and gameplay are centered around. So in my personal subjective method for determining fitting names for things, I think they would still make sense as a name for the entire map

But even if the map gets a name I'm not a fan of, it's still a cool map =D and I thank you for it
