I'd like to see it hidden spawns tbh , where are they, who knows, you have to find them when it starts
I've never seen spawnkilling actually work
As long as you ignore them and attack bots strategically, you can easily outgrow their troops and income, allowing you to make cities while they struggle to keep up
They pretty much always die as a result
then you've never been spawnkilled

Idk it sounds like a skill issue to me. Someone attacking you immediately as the game starts will always put them at a disadvantage. Unless you're fighting back or being ganged up on, you should always be able to beat them
okay so, when I say spawnkilled, I mean right away, like at the start of the game, you haven't even started to expand yet, and the other player is right next to you and fullsends

Playing close and risky is a strat. Spawnkilling isnt'.
No it’s not there’s a reason in competition there no spawn killing because it ruins the game for people, it requires no skill. You can still spawn close with immunity but it guarantees no spawn killing

After your initial expansion you can't just be 100%'d that easily.
my own idea is to make an aoe exclusion zone around spawn. so two people cant' spawn too close toether
and no spawn immunity.
and i'd make that feature global. ffa and teams and ranked.
nobody likes being spawnkilled. this is a systemic, permanent solution.
You don't ban the equivalent of a dark age rush strat in AOE2, because somebody is abusing game mechanics to kill you 1 second into the game.
The tension that you can be pushed early on is a part of decisions you make during gameplay. 30 seconds is almost a free anex. Waaay too much when punishing an annex strat is to push and cut them off.
10 seconds in you've expanded, built up your troops and you need to read your opponent on what he's going to do.

Compromise at 15 then because 10 is too little and after 15 if the guy attacks you they’re guaranteed to lose
