I think that they are interesting because they either push you o win before they come online and control trade routes, or give an incentive to not play agressive and play for first until after people blow all their mirvs on others

bombs arent as radioactive as you think they are

the worst offenders for radiation dispersion are nuclear power plants

also in the case of bombs alot of radiation is more concentrated to where the fireball was

so we can completely avoid that area

Modern nuclear weapons use almost all of their radioactive material in generating the blast, what is left isnt enough to make an area unlivable long term.

no, modern nukes could have someone living in the same area in months. In Japan almost all of the radiation was gone within literal months of the bombs going off, and it wasnt even at seriously unsafe levels even days afterwards.

and that was a much less efficient bomb
