Open source means the game relies on contributions from the community. If this game was to openly accept AI generated content which is incredibly unpopular it would both cause negative public opinion and discourage actual artists from touching the game. Would turn the game from a good fun open source project into looking like low effort slop imo
YouTubers epically could go crazy over it, negative callout videos, questionable copy right, unknown legality and a whole other host of issues just to save a little time by using soulless slop make no sense to me.
And #1348692208370323549 just proves you do have a host of community members willing to make art for the game, even for free. All risk for little to no reward imo.
