I think that a missile defense system solves this

That's the point of MIRVs
To end the game and not prolong it

Their removal is very unlikely
A huge nerf is unlikely
They are meant to be OP
A small nerf or change is possible i think

# restive pasture Sure I can see that but it just removes all strategy in the late game it’s just...

Fair criticism

I have two main points. First, economy management is crucial in Open Front, and players who handle it well should be rewarded. That said, maybe MIRVs could be adjusted slightly—perhaps a small nerf, but not to the point of making them useless. They shouldn’t one-shot kill, but they should still deal significant damage.

Second, you brought up stalemates and the tendency for players to launch MIRVs at each other in the late game, and I completely agree. It shouldn’t have to end that way. I think stalemates shouldn’t be an automatic burden in the endgame, especially when peace options will exist. For example, if two superpowers remain and both have MIRVs, neither should be forced into a drawn-out war if peace is a viable option. It’s realistic, and i dont think it’s necessarily not fun, not all games require ending with one player. But yeah still most games shouldn’t end in stalemates or draws—that shouldn’t be the norm unless it actually makes sense.

So I had a game where me and another guy were both the 2 strongest players and we both got MIRV'd, and the 3rd and 4th players were far too small to be able to take advantage of it, but we were entirely too weak to recover from it, resulting in a game that would never end. So if the purpose of this is to avoid prolonging the game, I don't really think it's serving it's purpose.

# restive pasture Idk ur more I’ played the game I disagree now there’s definitely still plays to ...

I get what you're saying... and definitely does need an alert on who did it. I MIRV'd the crown who had 50% of the map and then he MIRV'd the other guy (assumedly thinking he did it) and I got the W that way, although it seemed kinda cheap lol.

Maybe it shouldn't whipe out the troops when it hits, or make the radiated areas significantly cheaper for the MIRV'd player to reclaim (although this presents its own difficulties).. Not sure what the answer is, but it definitely needs more tweaking.

If MIRVs are disabled on a portion of the online games then the people that like MIRVs can play with them and the people that doesn’t like them can play without them
