spore servers don't work on steam

contact ubisoft support and ask to move the game over to their launcher and it'll work

If you no longer have the option to register (it only shows the login form) open the folder %appdata%\Spore\Preferences (just copy that into windows search) and delete the login.prop file, you’ll then be prompted to register a screen name the next time you open the game

You’ll still need to have followed the proof of purchase steps first

If it continues to show that message immediately

make sure game is up to date in steam and verify game files
make sure you can access spore.com in your browser
if you use any kind of VPN, try with/without it
if you have any unusual firewall configuration (i.e. not windows defender and firewall) try turning it off
if you have any restrictions on your internet access this could also be an issue
