I have the collection from GOG, and before a few minutes ago, I could log in perfectly fine. After my game crashed when deleting a creature, i booted it up and got this.

The game can restrict you when you login too many times at once, like booting up the game twice in a minute. Then you have to wait a few minutes. It's annoying and that's probably what happened to you.
