About 60% of the planets I terraform "forget" they were teraformed, and lose their water or most of it or any terrain changes. This is a known bug but I was wondering if there is a fix or mod that fixes it even. And before anybody asks, yes my T-score is at T3 and locked in, most planets seem to be weird about remembering that though.
#is there any trick to forcing a planet to save terraforming edits?

There’s a limit of how many changes are saved, the oldest ones are reverted after that
I think mods exist to increase the limit, check SMC in #・spore-communities
Thanks, but I dont think thats the exact issue im running into (I hope im wrong though) because even if atmosphere cloud spreading is the last thing I do the game still forgets that theres supposed to be water (which is the most common issue I run into)
I will check out the modd discord see if I can find what you are talking about tho
That is intentional game design, it doesn’t lock in unless you complete all the steps like placing flora and creatures in the correct order
Unless you’re referring to something else
Do you mean a purely graphical issue (like the terrascore shows correctly but the planet doesn’t visually match)?
No like the T score is locked and green at T3, but water will disappear after leaving and revisiting. If you use an atmospheric tool for 1 nanosecond it fixes itself (but the revert once you leave and revisit)
yeah basically!
hmm weird apparently the "create river" terraform tool actually makes it "remember" like it should
weird fix but Ill take it I guess
nevermind :(
wait unless
nope :(
hmm placing an atmosphere generator on an already Greenlocked T3 planet with this issue, MIGHT fix it, ill need to do more testing
Tbh this is the first time I've ever heard of this issue
I've heard of similar ones but nothing like this, they are for the most part graphical and have zero impact on gameplay
well yeah no gameplay issue, but I like terraforming planets into wildlife sanctuaries 😭
it isnt, sorry I guess im not clear I suck at wording things, it's purely cosmetic
T score stays the same but water disappears
my bad lol
does it look like this?
yes but all bubbles are filled with animals
the entire ecosystem is filled out in this screenshot...
what version of the game are you playing?
latest version on gog
strange, I've only been able to replicate this in 1.0
modded but ive had this happen on vanilla steam version as well
but it seemed rarer in vanilla
what kind of mods do you have installed?
Dark injection,
a spice mod that changes all the spices (could be this),
a mod that allows more planets in a solar system to spawn (1 to 10 planets, I made the mod)
Flora editor mod
BruteLOD
some creature creator mods
sensible AI colonization mod
I have two guesses: either it's the flora editor or sensible AI colonization
possibly, I can see that, ill have to experiement more on it or on vanilla at somepoint
start a fresh galaxy without mods and see if the issue persists
Roger that, ill let you know the results when I get a chance
This happens to me all the time in Vanilla. T3, locked in, not water. Though I am running Spore from the old disk version, so maybe GOGs version is better. I will say I have quite a few planets so it could be the save memory limit thing folks were talking about earlier for
Me
if you're playing on an old disc version this tracks, it's a common bug in 1.0
not really a way to fix it
except just playing a different version
Well steam version is on 1.7 right?
I don't think it's officially called that
anything after 5.1 doesn't have any gameplay changes though
I see, where can I find a changelog?
a lot of stuff is not explicitly stated in these, however
the terraforming issues seem to have been fixed in patch 2?
I see, ty for the link and also I think I’ve got latest patch then
if you can connect online you have the latest patch
Then ya I do
